Just one of those games, plenty went wrong and not much went right.

Pendlebury went down injured in the first minute and din't come back. Maxwell marked in the square and handballed to Rocca under pressure and it went downhill from there.

Brisbane were exceptional, they're topline players really finding form. Simon Black put on one of the more dominant midfield displays I can ever recall. 12 Clearances, 20 contested possessions - no other player on the field had 5 clearances or 10 contested possessions.

Brennan lived up to his obvious talent for the 2nd time in his career, both of his good games have been against us! We simply couldn't find a matchup for him, was surprised Mick didn't swing Maxwell back there....

Then as these things happen when your side gets flogged, every turnover we produced was punished with a Brisbane goal, one bad disposal and Bisbane were clinical. On the other side of the fence, every time Brisbane weren't clean they seemed to have time to recover. One of Jed Adcocks goals summed up the night, Brisbane ran it out of defence, a pies player smothered a kick and it bounced straight back into the Lions hands, then he clanger kicked it to space, ended in a Lions hands, then 3 poor disposals and a couple of fumbles later and Brisbane had kicked a goal!

We were poor, but I'm not going to start bagging blokes. Except of course Lonie, who is like a cancer on this team with his lack of endeavour and unwillingness to put his head over the ball.

Bingo bango! It runs in the family and that's why we gave his brother the arse.
Hopefully you guys can come to the same conclusion.

no one wanted the ball, no pressure whatsooever, the collingwood that showed up yesterday didn't tackle or apply pressure like the team for all the other rounds, and frazer got freakin r*ped, black was allowed to rack up touches, MM had a shit game plan, well done matthews, lions flooded out forward line then rebounded quickly and scored, we went 1 on 1 the whole day even though all our defenders were losing

yes, the way the Brians got numbers behind the ball then came forward in waves was impressive. it also allowed the dreaded space for Brennan and Brown to roam free.

Lots of could haves and should haves, but I'd have moved Maxwell onto Brennan and put a loose man accross half back as soon as it started getting ugly in the 2nd quarter.

As I said before the game, there was never going to be a matchup for Wakes with Presti in the same team and we would have been better served by a Shannon Cox style players.

Its all academic though really, as the game was well and truely lost in the middle of the ground. Brisbane OWNED the corridor and dominated the stoppages. Charman pulled Frasers pants down and Black showed us why Pendles is so important to our own side. that inside poise was sorely missing.

Guy Richards happened!

I saw him get one tap all nite.... straight into Simon Blacks bread basket which resulted in a goal:mad:

The Pies play very loose footy and when they play a game against opposition like Essendon they can afford to do that because their skill level is fairly average.

Both Geelong and Brisbane showed us what happens when you let opposition players run rampant with no checking. The difference with Brisbane is that we were making so many mistakes we were virtually handing them the ball when our whole team was out of position.

did i mention we have no ruck? bring bryan in again, at least he would have wanted to kill charman, better if bryan doesn't win the tap out then richards tapping it to black, i hope those guys down at collingwood go crazy and try to get a new ruckman

Can anyone tell me what happened on Saturday night v Brisbane. I am sure l was having a nightmare!!!

Quite simple. We went back in time to 2004 were we had no chance of beating Brisbane even before the game started. Yes we should have won but Jesus I have no idea what so ever what happened. 94 points is a embarrassment. Good by top 4 finish? I'd think so :(.

I actually noticed him get a stack of hitouts. I thought his tap work was very, very good. Unfortunately, they were all picked up by Simon Black, and then as we all know, Richards proceeded to be an absolute liability around the ground.

Black murdered us all night, Brisbane were just too quick out of the midfield and we could keep up, there forwards dominated and ours didn't, we have alot of work to do before finals, Top 4 teams should not lose by 93 points

Yep I agree top 4 sides don't get smashed so I've gotta say it was a nice (although unfortunate) reality check so we can only learn from it. Simon Black always kills us and had like 6 touches even before they bounced the ball he was that good. Combined with their entire team firing they're running fantastic into the business end of the season when it counts.

I think though the most credit has to go to Matthews and the amount of times he has made MM his bitch is something I'm afraid to look the stats up on. Matthews had the Geelong game against us as a perfect template, had the players with the skillsets and more importantly the players in great form. It was perfectly executed.

i would rather eat a shit sandwhich then watch a game like that again.it was like we were watching the tony shaw magpies.

Just going to put it down to on of those nights, everything went wrong for us and perfect for them.we were off, they were on fire.

how you could find 5 guys to pick for votes other than say Maxwell is the hardest question.

two top 4 sides have lost by 13+ goals in the last 3 weeks - we are no different.

Realistically, with the people coming back into the side - we shouldn't drop another game.

Pendles is a massive loss though.

That would mean that Pendles is no longer favourite.

Selwood has it for sure now! But it will be well deserved.

What shits me is that Brennan kicked what 6 goals 5behinds? How does a dud do that to us.

Except of course Lonie, who is like a cancer on this team with his lack of endeavour and unwillingness to put his head over the ball.

He was not the only one who continually didn't put there head over the ball. To many times last night I saw Collingwood players deviate off there line while the Brisbane player ran through like on rail way tracks. You only have to do this once and the opposition start to think that they have right of way.

Here's my take on it:

We were hunted, caught, and killed.

Brisbane figured us out, stopped our passing game, contested everything. Brisbane ran harder, and showed 2 higher levels of intensity.

Oh, and Simon Black.

I left at half time, not proud to admit it but ill be stuffed if I'm paying $40 to watch that. It can only improve.

Piss O`bree off, couldn,t hit the side of a barn door from 15 metres away
Piss lonie off,i would rather have Lizz Ellis in my team
Piss Richards off,not a footballers ********
Piss Davis off,at Brisbane they call him donuts, thats what his stats sheet looks like when he plays brisbane. Davis is Brisbane,s 23 rd player.
Didak not a midfielder, never will be too slow, run down by Charman twice in the space of 5 seconds.
Licuria i have great admiration for but his time is well and truly up.

We'll bounce back

The one worrying thing is that we get cut up against side that play the corridor. We need to look at this.

Melbourne did it, Geelong did, Hawthorn did it, and now Brisbane.
