What I did on the weekend...

I needed a break, so packed up on the spur of the moment Friday night and drove off down the South Coast on Saturday morning.

Ended up staying at Huskisson on Jervis Bay had spa baths, drank a few bottles of vino, won at the local RSL and generally unwound.

Thought I'd share a photo or two as well.

Too cold for beach fishing yet, but a very nice little corner of the world.

What I did on the weekend - made my bf meet my entire immediate family (who are rarely in the same state together). He did well.:D

Nice pics, btw.

I worked on Saturday, then had a BBQ with family, and on Sunday- myself and my boyfriend (dyertribe) went to his house and veged out (so lazy).

Also did 2 workouts... in between all that. :D there wont be a day without a workout in :p

I honestly miss fishing, used to be a big thing with me and my father, then we both got busy with work...and haven't done any fishing for about 7 years :(

Thanks.

I bought a 3.3 megapixel digital camera awhile back and I've been practising trying to get better at scene setting, etc.

Next year I'll be out shopping for something in the 5 or 6 megapixel range with a much better zoom qualities.

Good on your BF for meeting & surviving the family!

I try to get a line wet every other wekend over summer. Its good being the boss, some days I "ditch work" and me and a mate go drop his Haines Hunter in at Brooklyn on a Friday and stay out overnight if the fish are on the bite.

I've also got 2 deep sea day excursions coming up which are great fun as well. One out of Terrigal on the Central Coast (better fishing) and one out of Cronulla (better drinking).

Ahh summer.....

Is it a tense time in your house during the Showdown weekend? I notice dyertribe goes for the Crows and that you're a Power girl...

Fishing, a little bit 'overrated'

Went to see Jimeoin at MCF a few years back, he did a great skit about "goin' fishin". Need the accent to tell it properly. Crux of it was that you run around pi$$ed the night before a fishing trip all excited about the fact that you're "goin fishin'" tomorrow, but that in reality fishing is bloody boring unless you have lots of beers and whoever that chick Alby Mangles went sailing / bonking all around the world with in the late '80s.

As for pubs Syd, Husky pub in my top 3 in Australia. Others (in no particular order) being the Brewery in Newcastle and Eimeo in Mackay.

We had dinner at the Husky Pub. Very busy little place.

There was also a little "dust up" between a couple of the locals while we were there, so we got a floor show as well when the local constabulary showed up to sort out the boys.

Really nice when the coppers call everybody by their first names.....

went to Huskisson last summer actually for about a week or two.

Not a bad place at all, and some of the houses there are BEAUTIFUL!
was definatly tempted to look into them, but i love Melbourne/Victoria too much :)

As threatened I went to the Melbourne Zoo. Nice way to spend an afternoon. I like animals more than people sometimes. In fact, most of the apes reminded me of a lot of the crowds there in one way or another.

My grandparents used to own a holiday place at St Georges Basin, so I knew the area well - beautiful part of the country. The beaches around Jervis Bay aren't too crowded and have the whitest sand I've ever seen.
