Snapped the key (metal bit from plastic bit) to my bosses car whilst doing a delivery during one of my first shifts at an old job. Freaked out, went to a nearby hardware store and got some super-glue and attempted to glue it back together. Took me a good 30 minutes but I managed to glue it together well enough so that you could start the car (the key looked horrible by this stage). Gave the boss back his keys and he was none the wiser
.
Saw the boss the next day and he said the key snapped when he tried to leave the night before and he had to use a pair of pliers to start the car. I felt pretty bad and I'm sure he knew what I had done but he was a good bloke and didn't say anything.
Looking back now it's hilarious but it definitely took a few years off my life.
