I can't believe you have to ask the question.

You got them for free and then got money for nothing when you sold them. He paid for something that did not eventuate. Not your fault ,but blatant profiteering on your part if you don't cough up.

As far as the legality of the situation is concerned, most competitions do not allow the winner to sell the tickets on.

Give him his money back.

Actually, i'm in a similar situation. (Was it the Paradise Lost concert?)

I bought a ticket off a mate to go to said concert which was recently cancelled a couple of weeks back.

He bought the ticket directly from the promoters site i think using a credit card. So when the gig was cancelled the money got refunded straight away to the card.

Am now having trouble getting the money back off him. Have asked him a few times about it, but it's always the "Got no money at the moment" excuse. But yet you see him updating his status on FB... "Just bought such and such off ebay, awesome!!" etc.

With friends like that, who needs enemies eh?

Some pretty mixed responses. I've spent about half the cash, bought a nice bottle of scotch and paid a bill. :thumbsu: I'm still not sure what to do, I do feel bad about it to an extent but then another part of me thinks hey it's not my problem the concert got cancelled, not to mention it would've been just as easy to purchase them through ticketek so if there was a cancellation at least you'd be guaranteed your money back, instead he's bought them off me because I had them at a cheaper price than the actual retail price.

He doesn't know I won them. He hasn't contacted me for a few days now but he looked pretty mean, like one of those asians that could kung fu my arse. I guess I'll just wait and see what happens, if he keeps texting me/trying to call then I may just give in, if he doesn't contact me in the next fortnight or so then stuff it.

Rather then refund the tickets, I'd prefer to murder him swiftly and cook some of his flesh in a fine stew with some mashed spuds with a sprinkle of rosemary and some carrot and eat it while watching beastiality footage.

If I was really in a mood, I'd prepare a feast for his family using the left over body parts which were not included in the above stew and serve them in some of momma's famous meatloaf. After they'd finished eating I'd be like "gotcha!!! You just ate your son, lol" and capture their reaction on film then send it to australia's funniest home video's.

Then I'd probably finish up by having a wank on that chatroulette website while wearing the guy's skin as a hat and quouting from Deliverance.

But you always have choices my friend.

If you refund you are an amateur at life. Drink, smoke, inject or snort the profits my good chum.

I think it comes down to what morals you have as a person. Put yourselves in the person's shoes. What would you expect to happen in the situation?

I wouldn't be too happy, then again I hardly ever buy concert tickets and if I did it wouldn't be off some dodgy website, it'd be through, you know, a ticketing place.

At the end of the day if you give him the money back no one loses out. You won them for nothing. It's unfortunate it got cancelled, but i find it pretty laughable your holding him to ransom over the event being cancelled as "not your fault"

You got them for nothing, give him his money back. If i were in the other dudes position, i'd be furious. And being the honest fella i am, if i were in your shoes, i'd give the money back. :)

You're basically admitting yourself to be a dodgy means by which to buy a ticket.

Just do the right ****ing thing and give him his money back. Why be such a cheap **** for?

Exactly and your mate should return your money (what he's done is essentially theft)

Did you pay $5 for some raffle and win the tickets? Or did you just get gifted them without any 'gamble' on your behalf?

Ignore the moralfags ITT. Enjoy your scotch, because you can bet your arse I would be if you bought the tickets off me ;)
