When criminal cunning meets a stubby short of a six pack.

Yep, yesterday I felt like I had walked into the most bizzare relm of life.

As I arrived for a meeting a Gabba establishment, I was greeted by the long lost custom of a male standing as a female enters the room. The initial shock of that aside, this particular mans presence was rather intimidating. I wasn't sure why, I didn't think I knew him, he didn't look familiar at first glance, it was just uncomfortable. The remaining seated male however was a different story, that was the stubby short of a six pack, Mark 'Jacko' Jackson. He just kept yapping away at whatever it was he was talking about, and I turned to take my leave until their running-late meeting ended. Sitting at the bar, reflecting on the piercing eyes of the standing man, it came to me who it was. Man what a presence he has in a room. It was non other than 'Chopper Read'.

The 2 of them then came through to the area where I was, and I watched as the locals averted their eyes to Chopper. They felt the intimidation too. Jacko continued to prattle, to tell Chopper what to do, while Chopper just stood there looking at him, not saying a word. Jacko wandered up and said 'hey love what's the name of that manager bloke we are talking to?', and I told him. Chopper came up and said, "sorry to run overtime, I hope you have nice night". And they left.

Wandering outside, Jacko still prattling, Chopper still just looking at him. It was all very bizzare.

He really blends in - I bet he looks just like any other bloke with no ears.

I dont understand this fascination with Chopper Read. This is a guy who killed an untold number of people yet has something resembling a cult status??

Yeah, it's funny. He's almost become a modern day Ned Kelly. A modern day folk hero despite being a murderous criminal.

We Aussies are a funny breed!

drug dealers are scum and deserve to be killed.

You must pay a visit to the establishment in which I work. There are a bunch of barmen I could do without. Also, I'm not very fond of the tobacconist over the road. As for the people who work in the coffee shop, they're insufferable. Do you do job-lots?

I think Danni was remarking more on the discomfiting yet profoundly intreresting effect of being in a room with the bloke, rather than the whyfores and wherefores of his public image.

Fair enough, i just thought it was worth mentioning that a known murderer is so well known publicly now - i know id be intimidated by a murderer
