Editing peoples quotes = pathetic. :)

Not as pathetic as your great thread last year Parrot old girl.

Remember. ?????

Ultra attacking blues V ultra defensive Hawks....:D

Hawks 180 ..................... Blues 80.......... even without Buddy.

i believe he will win a brownlow...i voted in the next five years...give hime more time to develop into a more explosive player and he needs to get his kicking efficiency up 10 - 15% to become a more dominant midfielder

Get it right "ultra-flooding". lol. Valid point then, valid point now. Want an example of why the Hawks are barely top-8 quality without Franklin? Go watch last years finals series. Franklin was the only reason you were competitive. Nothing has changed. :)

Wahst that say about Carlton then?
Getting a 100 point thumping by them without Franklin?
Also conceding 180 points to an "ultra flooding" team?

Here's a nice little article on the Hawks Tanking from 2003. There are another 15 or so articles on the systematic rorting of the draft system by the Hawks. Hawthorns tanking/rorting went on for 2-3 years, and even surpassed StKilda's efforts. Nothing like a little reminder therapy eh. lol. :)

LOL @ Parrot...

Hawthorn minus Franklin >>>>>>>> Carlton.

Hawthorn plus Franklin >>>#![system error, too many characters###]>> Carlton.

Carlton 2008 would beat the "Hawks minus Franklin" quite easily of course. A similar margin to our win over the Pies this year I suspect. :)

Please. Don't embarrass yourself. The Hawks without Franklin still make you look like fools. If you're going to take out Franklin, why not take out Fevola? Who would kid your goals? Fisher!? HA!

Yep, you guys beat us. It was a great win. Luckily for us, you were in 5th gear... and as we showed last night, we weren't even out of park. The Pies are coming for you parrot!

The same could be said for Collingwood last year.

Take out Rocca, he was your leading goal kicker. Who would kick your goals? Please don't say Trav Cloke, because that would be just a tad hypocritical on your behalf.

A) My point is, if you take out any club's best forward, they'll struggle.

B) Our forward line also has Medhurst, Davis and Didak, to go with Cloke. So we'd fair a lot better without Rocca than you would without Fevola.

Team mates stealing votes off one another to such an extent as to prevent one another from winning the Brownlow is one of the biggest myths in football.
Sometimes it is, other times its not.

Certainly in the case of Brisbane and West Coast it wasn't. Two players from both those clubs won brownlows when they we at their peak and another (Kerr) finished runner up.

However, you only need to go back to Scott West a couple of years ago I think, when he was making a serious case for it but then Brad Johnson kept getting 3 votes off him and he ended up missing out on the brownlow.

It works both ways.

As I have stated these are not odds. Blokes like you run around pretending they have knowledge in areas. Your lack of Mathematical skill is frightening. Offer odds or are you to frightened just like Murphy was when he got crunched last year.

Haha I can just imagine you sounding like that whiney nerd from the simpsons with black hair.. not sure if he even has a name but if that's not a direct quote it should be

maaahhaa your lack of mathematical skill is fightening maaaaaahhhh

hahahaha. this guy.

database I think he's called

Disagree.

Sure Akermanis, Judd, Cousins and Black managed it, but the Lions and Eagles won ALOT of games in those seasons.

Carlton will need to become a superpower and win alot of games for Murphy or Judd to win the Brownlow... especially with Stevens there as well, and Gibbs developing nicely.

Adam Goodes won two Brownlows by being a superstar in a team of well drilled above average players.

Adam Goodes won 2 brownlows, and yet there is host of better players who have never won one. I question the merit of the brownlow system, especially umpires giving votes. IMO Goodes is a very good player. I would call him a star, not a superstar. I believe there is a bracket of players in which his name doesn't quite belong. Amongst the likes of Ablett, Judd, J.Brown, S.Black, Hodge, Bartel, Franklin (obviously after another year or 2)

I think he just stood out the most in a team of hard working yet not brilliant players. I think he was a long way from the BEST player in the competition the years he won charlie

My point exactly.

My point exactly.

Yeah, in that case I'd say you're spot on.

BTW, what does everyone think Simon Black's chances are at another Brownlow this year? I honestly think he'll win it. A proven vote getter, wasn't really a favourite last year and came runner up, and looks like 08 will be a stellar season. I'd love it if he won. Quite possibly my favourite non-Carlton player, I think he's one of the best players I've seen and one of the best personality wise as well.

I'd love him to win it again and on current form he is well in contention.

The big issue is whether he can sustain it for the rest of the season, he has a groin issue that is being monitored... and while on some days he is unstoppable, he can sometimes struggle with the elite taggers... Cameron Ling always shuts him down heavily.

Will be interesting to see how he goes this weekend... if he can get on top of Brady Rawlings, get on the phone to your bookie.

great game by murp on sunday, 33 touches (23 kicks, 10 handballs), 6 marks, 5 tackles, and a great hardball get with 2 min left that sparked simmos goal, will go close to polling 3 votes for the game, perhaps judd will get the 3. GREAT GAME MURPHY!!!
