A few of them got moved here because we wanted to keep football related discussion seperate from the off field stuff

Our preference is to use this board for more serious football discussion, while more light-hearted "chat" can go into "Club Roomie"

Plus I had enough of some of the stuff you had enough of too (and some St Kilda trolls to boot) and got rid of it so we could start some real football discussion on the Swans on the main board. Plus its the off season and there is very little to talk about on the Swans other than the teams return to training and the up-coming draft.

Spamming is a completely natural thing,
How can it be banned? I just don't get it. Is it technically against the rules?



Like, I'd spam, but then if I get banned I'd have to do work and study for exams rather than spending a copious amount of time on BigFooty.



Which just isn't worth it.

How good is Kirk!?

Is Goodes better than Judd? who would you have in your hand picked team?

Has anyone ever shown how to play flat out like Ryan O' KeeFe?


Best we stick with "what lipstick looks good on the big day".... eh?:o:D:p

I agree, there is only a small amount of traffic on this board at the best of times, it was picking up near the end of last season but to separate this board at the moment I think will lead to a slow down.

The roomies was a popular thread and the girls (and a couple of others) did a great job with it but to disperse our traffic I’m not sure will work, but well i best guess we see how it goes.

Sure it will more than likely lead to a slow down to traffic on "this" board, but then again traffic on this board always does at this time of year because there is no football related stuff on the Swans to talk about other than the build up to draft and then the draft itself. That's the nature of the off season. But we aren't losing traffic overall because what was once posted on the Swans Board itself is now being posted on a sub-board to the Swans Board and that all counts towards to the totals for the Swans Board overall. Just what we will now regard as the "Main Board" will be for Serious On-Field Discussion (of course joking will be allowed like it always has, just the "OMG I love so and so and think he is so hot" threads will be moved) and banter.

But in creating the new board, it wasn't about moving traffic from here (the "Main Board") to there (Club Roomie), it was about moving a type of discussion from the Swans Board that really wasn't suitable for the board (but then again not really off-topic or bannable at the same time) and putting it on its own sub-board and allowing what was basically a single thread to become a whole board, that allows everyone (but mainly the Girls who posted in the Roomies Thread) the chance to post on off field subjects that are far more wide ranging than just the three players that make up the Roomies and that in turn allows more people the change to join in the fun because they can post about their favoruite Swans player/s.

But remember all posts made on the Club Roomie Sub-Board count towards the Swans Board's overall traffic, post count and thread views. So in a way we gain from having the Sub-Board because it bring more people to the Board, keeps posting going during Summer and if there is a Football Topic that interests people well of course people will join in on the Main Board and add like they always have.

Myself and Benevolent Ert wanted a board for off-field discussion and on-field discussion and not a mixed bag which we had, so that during the season serious football discussion doesn't get weighed down by threads about which player is the best looking one at the club, rather than what is the overall goal......





more threads bagging Ben Mathews, Paul Beven, Jared McVeigh and whoever is the latest victim/target of the boards rage against underperfoming players in the senior team;)

But seriously, I understand the concern about the Main Board having little or no posts on it and trust me, I don't want to see that happen and either does Benevolent Ert. So while we asked for the Club Roomie Sub Board, we are at least willing to make sure that there is enough discussion on the Main Board to keep everyone happy. At the moment its hard when there is little news coming out of the club, but at least we have the draft this weekend which always has me on a rant level of epic proportions to keep everyone going for a few weeks.
 
why don't you just toddle off to your own board?
nobody wants you here, and i dont think being a 'newbie' will allow collingwood supporters to rush to your aid, either.

as for the comment that Sydney won't make the 8 in 08, this coming from the supporter of the team that lost to richmond..:rolleyes:

SouthSwans is a "cousin" ( I am sure he would prefer a better description) of Ben Matthews and after a top 10 finish in the club championship this year and the best shut down player with scalps aaready mentioned in thread now GONE!... made his value to SMFC very vey plain and clear!

The girls get a tickle evry time Mc Veigh is mentioned but he is equally supported as he is bagged here!

Bevo is a effn roomie !!!!!!! (sorta like sleeping in God's bed) IS a premeirship player and any one who has doubts watch him specifically in the 2005 GF...... bloody sensational!!!!! ( most don't know he had what turned out to be a broken bone in his foot at the time)

Of course, if that happens over the entire make up of the Swans Board (which includes the new sub-board) during the next 12 months. But this board has ALWAYS gone quiet in the summer in regards to football related topics and I don't see how opening a sub-board for off field player discussion will effect something that always happens. If it has an effect during the season, then of course myself and Benevolent Ert will look at the position of the sub-board and take action from there.

But at this stage all we have done is move the Schneider and Roomies Thread to the Sub-Board and left this "Main Board" as is. Hardly a major attack at the board in general other than the fact I've opened a new sub-board (which most Club Board on Big Footy have) and the Swans haven't really been in the news this off season like the past few season to stoke discussion.

But at this stage nothing suggests that having the sub-board has been a bad move in the short term, because we haven't had any major Swans football related news to talk about other than who we would want to draft this Saturday and how we think we will go next season. Give it time before making a final judgement, because I'm sure that's what Benevolent Ert and myself will do.
