Where is Rowan Jones?

mouldy Rowan is in the WAFL...He has consitently been amongst his WAFL teams best players but cannot break into the WCE team due to the form of everyone at the moment...

I seriously think that Rowan career with WCE is nearing its end...He will continue to find it hard to break into the team and he could be possible trade bait come seasons end

That is a very good summation of where Rowan is at and the fact that he now has a young family no doubt would have some effect re his priorities etc.
If he is offered as a trade and Malthouse is still at Collingwood I reckon there is a fair chance that Mick would be interested as he always had a very high opinion of him just as he did James Clement.

He did a speech in the room I was working in last nite. Nothing really insightful was said.

Just wondering, does any other team in the league have one of their vice-captains not getting a regular game?

I'm not sure about the priorities part- he's consistently playing about as well as is humanly possible in the WAFL in an effort to get selected, he's just not getting a look in, because if its a lineball selection between him and a younger player in good WAFL form, the younger player gets the nod every time.

I hope for his sake he gets a crack before the end of the year, but I think at the end of the season people like him, Wooden, and Adkins will face a similar decision to the one Chambers made last year. I'm guessing we'd be more than happy to hang onto any of them as good depth players, but if they want to build a career they may go elsewhere.

I haven't seen all the WC games due to work and dodgy replay times, but where is Jones? Playing in the WAFL?

Rowan Jones will win the Sandover medal and probally wont play another game for the Eagles. Great WAFL player however very average AFL player. Only ever had one good year and that was when they used him as a tagger a few years back then got injured and has never been the same since.

I don't think he'll be traded. He's a WA country boy.

A brave player, but as said there are just other's ahead of him in the team.

Rowan Jones downfall has always been his kicking and sadly he never really corrected it as he got older. He kicks too many slow floaters, is terrible at set shots and generally has trouble pin-pointing passes over any significant distance. If he could kick decently he would be a regular no question.

If R.Jones deos not get a gig with the Eagles against Melbourne (if Edwards gets suspended that is) he shuold consider going to another club, I think he would slot into the Crows as a small forward pocket pocket player can take a grab and kick a goal or two.
