Headland play for Subi?
Are you ****ing kidding me?
Easily in our top dozen or so players. Missed most the season and slots back, plays well, attacks the ball hard, and fans still aren't happy?
Coaching staff no doubt will back Headland in because he is a required player, unlike the morons on BF.
McPhee is also easily in our best side. While he may not be at his 2004 form, he attacks the ball hard, can take a grab and can beat an opponent. Another change of scenery should do him well.
At his (rare) best, Headland is in our best 22, I'm not disputing that. When he performs at his best for 22 games you can come and talk to me about who the required players are though. An injury prone, inconsistent, half forward is easily replaced.

Which player in the AFL does that? Players in every sport go through form slumps and/or poor performances due to matchups/injuries/team play/lack of effort.
I do agree with you that Des lacks consistency but at his best he's not just in our best 22 he's in our best 10. I think he relished playing out of the goal square last year and we'll see a lot more of it in 2010.
