Nuke so much history, and some good teams..........naaah

IMHO

KCM will merge with Allies
WCW...good
Crocs......good
Tiges........good
Vics.....Fred has promised new blood
Qld.....needs some work but Joshhem could revive them

That leaves 2 sides to be merged/ built etc and an 8 team competition.

But I'd wait until 4 Jan earliest to start getting going again

Happy Christmas to all.

Can we not get a SA team up?

In my opinion, the six teams who made the one-day finals should be retained. The other four sides should probably be chopped as they have the least activity.

The Warriors have the best activity out of any side and have done so for the last three seasons. That may sound biased as I am the team captain but I'm sure most would agree. The Crocs are still pretty active as are the newly refreshed KCM. Bengal Tigers have active posters and Victoria and Queensland have a few guys but can easily recruit more as they cover large areas of land.

Inferno Devils and the Chargers have been non-existent for most of the season, they should be chopped without question. Same for Baghdad really who had a couple of posts or so every second or third game. The Allies are a tough one, they have a long history but with no-one showing any interest since the beginning of the one-day resumption, they should go too.

Eight teams would be too much I think. We had pretty much no activity with ten sides, eight won't solve that. What we need is six sides which we can build up and strengthen first, this would probably take a season or so. It's cricket season here so we could easily recruit guys from the cricket boards and wherever else and the players from the defunct sides could easily find a new club.

A solid season of ten tests and ten one-dayers with an emphasis on posting and a structure would see us have a solid five-month season which wouldn't be too long.

Everything can be organised during January. Many will be away at present.

I'd rather see the existing teams retained if at all possible but no less than 8. As long as each team has 5 or 6 good posters there'll be plenty of activity. It's virtually impossible to get all players in all teams consistently active.

In fairness to Baghdad I let it drop away terribly. But I built the club once and can do quite easily again, yes we were poor towards the end LJ but that shouldn't be a accurate judge who to cut, we did have a massive break in the season and all my blokes appear to have more or less stop posting on BF. Instead of bringing in new blokes to join in Frodos OD-a-thon I decided to go with my inactives and then recruit fresh for the new year.

So I'm stating firmly now that Baghdad will be back and in touch come 2010.

Won't work. Five or six posters per team isn't good enough in my opinion. Only a few sides managed that for most of the year and look at the activity that we had, it wasn't very big at all.

Six teams would be the best amount to have, we need to have a strong posting base and get back to basics here, a short sharp season where we can keep the interest and posting up is what this competition needs to get back on track. Eight or nine posters per team would be the target we should aim to achieve.

That's rubbish boncer, this is the type of stuff that is holding the BFFCL back. The Devils, Chargers and Allies all promised the same thing for this season and failed miserably. The BFFCL needs to cut its losses and get rid of the deadwood so we can start afresh or at least form a solid base so we build the competition back up.

Keeping teams which have had little activity for most of the year won't achieve that.

I still think that we should nuke the board but keep the club names. History amounts to nothing and good form amounts to nothing if nobody cares enough to remain active.

I understand that that loooonnnnggg break killed the activity in the competition, so I think a census (is that the right word?) is needed to find out how many people are still interested in the league and if we don't have enough people, the mods can always make an announcement for virgin players to join up to the competition.

Establish 6 strong posters or people who care about the league as captains of the 6 teams and then have a draft on the interested people who wants to play. After that commence a 20 round season with the top 4 going through to the final series. The top 4 team will play a round robin or an eliminator series to see who will go through to the GF.

Anyway, that's my take of it - Nuke and start anew.

It sounds like a good idea but i think people who are already good posters at there team should stay at there team and then build up from there

If this comp goes down to 6 teams it will die.

Too small to be serious.

The idea of having six captains and a draft really sucks.

Think about it. Players have been with the same club for years, move them and there's a good chance we would lose a poster.

But the reality is that we need someone to run the competition. Without that person all discussion is meaningless.

And 20 rounds is too long. 10 teams only amounts to 18 games. So 8 would be 14, and I think that's about right for tests.

OD's really needs a lot of discussion. One match a week is an interest loser. Two a week is too much for the competition manager. Maybe two leagues of 4 with two simmers, that would give two games a week. Then the top teams play a grand final.

I think we need to go into nearly all forums on BigFooty to advertise this competition. I think the SFA would be a good place to start, as most people there are interested in Fantasy Sports, and would be all for playing in this league.

No way. Teams lioke the Warriors have built up good chemistry over a period of time, we wouldn't want to break that up
