Imagine it will be 13th to 16th. But you add Brock McLean, Jared Rivers, Brent Moloney and Russel Robertson (our two best midfielders, best forward and best back) think you'll see a lot more improvement. Add to this the development of our kids, hopefully we can improve on this year.

They'll be extremly lucky to avoid the wooden spoon.

About 13th or 14th. The advantage they have is they are bottoming out before the draft restrictions are introduced. Unlike the Tiges and Dons, they are playing a lot more younger players rather than 30 year old+ types. While this will cause some short term pain, it should put them in better shape once they mature. Predicting the Tiges, Freo and Pies to be the big sliders in 2009. :)

This proves that you clearly know nothing about footy.

Richmond finished what, last in 2007 and have improved alot this year so why would they go from being one of the big improvers to a big slider?

How could Freo be a big slider next season? We are three games above the wooden spoon, hardly possible to be a big slider next year also we have brought quite a few quality young players in this year and they will only keep improving next year.

I personally cant see Collingwood being a big slider next year, I dont believe that they will improve but I can still see them making the 8. They still have a quality midfield with the likes of Swan, Pendlebury, Thomas etc as well as Josh Fraser coming back to play a bigger role than he has this year. Also some of there younger players like Brown, Reid etc will improve into quality KPP's.

FWIW I think that the major sliders next year will be Adelaide and Saint Kilda.

The Tiges haven't bottomed out yet. Last year was just the start of it. Terry pinched a few extra job-saving wins this year by playing a lot of oldies (5 over the age of 30 in their starting 22!), and trading away his low second round pick for McMahon. And despite those efforts, they were still exposed as a rabble V Crows a few days ago. They still need to retire the oldies, offload the Miller top-20 draft gaffs, and draft and develop a lot of younger players before they can really progress. Freo can slide another 3 spots easily. You don't have a midfield, plus you're only now retiring the oldies. The Pies list is in bad shape - it's basically a list of even battlers, devoid of any midfield talent. It won't take much for them to plummet to bottom 4. :)

While Richo is still running around dont rule Richmond out:thumbsu:

Freo dont have a midfield? Take the best midfielder out of any side at the start of the season and see how they go. Next year people will not be saying we have a bad midfield with Pav, Haselby, Palmer, Ibbotson, Headland, Schammer, Crowley, Mayne, 1st rounder draft pick and maybe Cousins:eek: Now who could say that is a bad midfield?

Pies mids, no talent? Thats news to me. Swan is 1 of the most consistent players in the AFL and Dale Thomas is 1 of the most skillful and Pendlebury is all class. Plenty of talent there IMO:thumbsu:

While Richo is still running around dont rule Richmond out:t....:

Richo has been a liability for the Tiges for well over a decade. We saw a bit of bad-Richo V Crows. Those dummy spitting efforts were the norm for much of the past 10 years, although I admit he's mellowed a bit in this twilight phase. :)

Nothing to say bout Freo then ey?

Freo completely stuffed up their list over the past 2-3 years, with some bizarre list management decisions made worse by a terrible coach. Supporters applauding a finals loss was just bizarre. You had all the players needed several years ago, but the coaching, player development, and list management, and club culture were all lacking, hence the outcome. At least you have booted the coach, and are doing something about the list at last. That's a start. Don't think the AFL can support 2 WA teams. 1 license should be given to a Tasmania team, and the Weagles and Freo should merge. :)

you sir are an idiot.
1. we played a younger side than you with our 5 old bags:o
2.you still ignore the other 17 players in the team.
3.we gave away that pick because we had a priority pick
and 4 we were exposed because all the skinny kids playing in the team

...3.we gave away that pick because we had a priority pick...

lol. So let me get this straight, you just automatically give away priority picks? You traded that low pick for McMahon - a 24-25 yo ex-Bulldogs player, who couldn't make their senior team. You could have picked up a talented young player like Selwood in the draft instead! Even your fellow Tigers supporters are furious over that Miller departure gift. And to make things even worse, if you really wanted McMahon on your list, you could have got him for free with your #1 PSD pick! Unbelievable. The Dess might be struggling at the moment, but at least they are not trading away their draft picks, and are actually playing younger players in their starting 22, that will pay rewards in the future. The Tiges have only played one draftee from last years draft this year. :)

I dont think we had all the players needed in 06, that is coz in the prelim final Sydney had at least 3 players on Pav pretty much at every contest so that is why we recruited Tazza, to take some pressure off Pav.

As for the bit about Tasmania, if they could support 1 club then WA could support 5:thumbsu: And us merging with the Weagles would be like Carlton merging with Collingwood:eek:

If any team was to move to Tas it would have to be Melbo, sorry the Demons. Tassie Demons sounds alright ey?:D:p

Nah freo are sh1t. Make no mistake about it. Every year they're overrated lets just lock in a bottom 8 stop for next year.
Make no mistake, no 1 gives a shit what bandwagoners like yourself think so **** off.

I...: And us merging with the Weagles would ....

But Freo and Weagles are part of the same organization aren't they? ie. shared facilities etc. Many Freagle supporters hold joint dual memberships as well. The fact is both Freagles have been bottom-4 rabble for much of the year, and Freo have been hopeless despite massive draft and AFL handouts. The experiment has failed. Merge the Freagles, and give the spare license to a Tassie team. :)

Fev and Matty Kruezer go OK. :)

I think he's referring to defenders.

Carlton need a big defender down back and they'll do well. Thornton is an excellent rebounding player, Jamison can shut down the 3rd tall/quick leading forwards but they both lack height. Waite plays like Thornton does, gets lots of his own ball but can't really stop a big forward.

You could also use a decent small defender, Carazzo doesn't cut it in that position.

FWIW we'll finish 13th.

probably 11 or 12 with vast improvement from younger players, no jeff white hopefully will bring out the best in pj and jama, just need a ff, chf, fb, chb and we will have good spine:p

...

Waite, Jamo (fastest closing speed in the AFL), Bower and co go OK. All 192-194cm, fast and attacking. Setanta (injured currently) at 200cm adds extra height. Small defenders? No problem - Browne, Armfield - both have blistering speed, and are highly skilled. The Blues defense has improved out of sight this year, and is one of the most talented and versatile in the AFL. :)
