I'd say top 10.

Premierships and 97 PF would be top of the list
Followed by Showdown final and Showdown R7 2000 (where we came from 42 points behind to win).
I'd slot tonight's win in with R7 2004 (the one no one expected us to win)

97 Prelim will always be my favourite
from the 98 GF
from the 97 GF
from Chads "dream final"
from 2002 Semi v Demons
from Showdown 2

Of the ones I can remember, that's my top 5.

I'd question whether it's top 10, but it would be in my top 15.

Edit: Thanks for the 2002 reminder Stiff :p

That's a pretty good list bus24, I would also add the 2005 game at the dome vs Saints where we were spanked in the first quarter and bock destroyed Reiwoldt :D

Also the Carlton game at Princes Park where Roo ran amok and there are a few games against Richmond, one in 93 and the other in 97 where we caused Walls to be sacked.

Macca's 250th was also a nice game to re-watch too.

2001 game against Brisbane at the GABBA where we won by 5pts and Burton took a massive mark in the goal square, that game was very special.

Rnd 4 against Carlton in 2001 hadnt won a game, backs to the wall playing at Optus Oval it was pissing down with rain, thunder, lighting, Riccuito played a blinder we won by 9pts and Ayres was embraced, that was a pretty special game.

Last night's win was the best I've seen in a long time. It's right up there with the last Showdown I went to, being Showdown VII in 2000. We were down by seven goals and came back to snatch victory by seven points.

I have to say I will never forget when Tyson Edwards curled home that major to put us in front last night. The crowd went absolutely unglued. And then the siren....euphoric stuff, inspiring games like that are a big part of what makes this game so special. :thumbsu:

That 2002 Semi Final against Melbourne was a pretty special win as well.

I reckon last night's game would be in the top 15, maybe top 10.

Oh yeah that game! Was watching at home in Canberra at that stage, when Ten were publicising that all finals were 'live' everywhere. Pity I had my sister texting me from back in Adelaide the updates at the end of each quarter as funnily enough it seemed that the rest of the world (well Victoria and SA) were 1/2 hour ahead of Canberra :p

First quarter text was along the lines of - yep watch this one, second quarter I received a text that said, don't watch this quarter. Third quarter was a still don't watch and the final was just a smiley from memory :D

Showdown 7 in 2000.

Adelaide was down by 42 points in the 3rd quarter and won by 7. Mark Ricciutto had 40 odd possessions and won the game virtually on his own

Live everywhere??? I watched it in Victoria on a half hour delay!

That is a very special win for mine. Has extra significance for me as it was the last footy match i watched with my granddad before he died. It was pretty much him and nan that got me into footy and he was very sick at the time. I waould have been 14 at the time and i sat there with him and we watched the whole thing barracking the whole time (he wasn't a crows supporter). My Nan came back from Bingo (as older ladies do) and knew the result but we didn't want her to tell us... I was sure we weren't going to win... but as we kicked each goal to get closer and closer the smile on her face got bigger and bigger.

Still pull out the DVD every now and then.

Top 5 for mine...

1997 GF
2002 SF
1998 GF
1997 PF
2005 Showdown late in season (heritage round)

Last night was a good win... maybe top ten.

Another good game... round 4 i think 2001 against Carlton at Princes Park. Mark Ricciuto kicking four goals to win the game off his own boot in torrential rain.

Also the Carlton game at Princes Park where Roo ran amok...

The odds going into that one were something like $7 or $8 given the form of the respective sides.

Criminal that Smart took the 3 votes from Ricciuto too - not only did he boot 4 of the best goals you'll see given the conditions but he set the tone early with a massive bodyslam on the Riewoldt/Brown/Koschitzke phenom of the hour, Lance Whitnall.

Not only did he get away with it, but Big Red was a non-factor for the rest of the afternoon - some would say the rest of his career.

I think that this Showdown could rate highly in retrospect, providing we go on to make the finals. That last quarter will be seen as a turning point in our season and it will become a famous game in Showdown and AFC history. If we miss the finals, the game will slide into oblivion and simply be remembered as a bonus win in an average season.

First blood vs HAWTHORN in 91
Beating the HAWKS by a point at WAVERLEY in 92
First final AND WIN vs HAWKS in 93

Shoo ins -

97 PF
97 GF
98 GF
02 SF
98 PF
Showdown 2 ( The day we finally BELIEVED )
Showdown 7 ( Was there !!!! )

The 97 Prelim is something that will live with me forever.

That was truly the greatest comeback I have witnessed.

Oh yes, I remember that game. There was lightning too. Brings back some great memories.

Channel Ten had been advertising leading into the finals series that every game in NSW/ACT would be live. They were even doing those ads specifically for that game in the week leading up to it

I'll throw another one out there that might just sneak into some Top 10 lists. That game against Geelong where Roo went mental in the last quarter and ended up with about five goals. The same day when Ayres was ripping into old Geelong fans.

Ohh yeah because it was raining so hard we left the banner down until the players ran out, of course water flooded it and ended up covering the boys in a nice river of red, yellow and blue dye:D most of the banner was gone also just a mass of sticky tape:o lifted it up and it all disapeared:p

Yes or another one back in 1998 down at the Cattery when Modra booted six I think and we tore the Cats apart to the tune of 10+ goals:D

Cant wait to head down to the Cattery this w/end:D

I've got a real soft spot for the "Trent-Ormond Allen" game against the Saints in 1999.

Going back even further, our win over Hawthorn at Waverley in 1992 was way up there too. Behind all day to the previous year's premiers, to hit the lead in the last minute to snatch victory was a great, great win - particularly in an era when we did not travel at all well.
