Where's Ed?

Have you noticed that he has hardly spoken much this year?

Very rarely speaks about on field matters - don't seem to remember him being so quiet before. I know a Pres shouldn't really delve into onfield matters but its a bit strange for our Ed to not be 'everywhere' as they say.

I don't listen to MMM in the morning - does he discuss the Pies much there perhaps? Any regular listeners got any comment?

There's one thing worse than not keeping a lid on a team that is about to break out and that is not keeping a lid on one that is going about business as usual. There's no need for him to pop up right now.

I think keeping it quiet is a deliberate choice from Ed who is a master of spin. When things get closer to finals (or into the finals) expect to see him pop up.

He really is exceptional at playing the media.

He talks about Collingwood a fair bit on his breakfast show but he pretty much keeps a lid on it. He speaks his mind but conciously stays away from saying anything too controversial and doesn't talk about players performances etc etc.

It also must be said that we have had a season without any big controversy so far (touch wood) so he hasn't really had to say too much.

And Smally's still going, Ed is a substantial meal, even for a powerhouse like Smally.

This thread title gave me a great idea for a book in the style of 'Where's Wally?". Stick Ed in a Pies jumper and hide him in various settings.

Pop him at the MCG and find him amongst the throng. To make it a little easier, give him binoculars and a red face.

Ed in the media scrum - 'oooh, there he is kids, squeezing some plums.'

Ed at the farm - 'is that Ed's jumper coming out of Smally's "Dairy-air"?'

Eddie in the team huddle - 'who's that plumpy, is that BJ or Ed?'
