Which of the following two youngsters are the best? (Born no earlier than 1988) People will most likely argue with the chosen players, but i dont care.

Adelaide: Dangerfield, Walker
BL: Rich, Leuenberger
Carlton: Gibbs, Henderson
Coll: Sidebottom, Pendlebury
Ess: Hurley, Pears
Freo: Hill, Palmer
Gee: Selwood, Hawkins
Haw: Rioli, Ellis
Roos: Ziebell, Cunnington
Melb: Scully, Watts
Port: Hartlett, Boak
Rich: Cotchin, Riewoldt
StK: Armitage, McEvoy
Syd: Jetta, White
WB: Ward, Higgins
WC : Swift, NicNat

Very tough IMO.
Scully+Watts, Hurley+Pears, Dangerfield+Tippett, hard to split with Hill+Palmer, Ziebell+Cunnington, Rich+Luey, Pendles+Sidey all very close also.

I'd take Hurley and Pears well before Tippet and Dangerfield.

Hurley and Pears before anyone for that matter.

BTW, Geelong's 2 should be Selwood and Hawkins, not bloody Varcoe. As if Varcoe is a more promising 'youngen' than Hawkins:eek:

WB's Shaun Higgins and Callan Ward, followed by Essendon's Hurley and Pears and Adelaide's Tippet and Dangerfield.

(NB Ayce Cordy shouldn't be on the list until he plays a senior game).

Never rated St Kildas depth in kids due to them giving away picks and redrafting spuds but having Armitage and Mcevoy as there best 2 kids proves the point.

Would not swap Higgins and Ward for any of the youngens

^^I'm not sure Hurn or Kennedy are quite as young as some of the others? I thought Swift when I saw West Coast though.
"Some" being the key word there.

What about Tippett, or Pendlebury or Leuenberger.....

Why do some teams have players listed in that age bracket and others not?

Melbourne has 27 players in this category:

Jones
Grimes
Jurrah
Morton
Frawley
Wonaeamirri
Garland

Watts*
Scully*
Trengove*

Wouldn't have the best pair at this stage but absolutely no doubt have the best 10 :thumbsu: (oh and if you're going to contest that starting by posting your best 10, '88 and younger)

Kreuzer and Gibbs.

You can tell that an Essendon supporter started the thread.

  1. Gibbs
  2. Kreuzer
  3. Yarran
  4. Robinson
  5. Hampson
  6. Grigg
  7. Bower
  8. Henderson - I'm still pinching myself that they handed him over
  9. Lucas
  10. Garlett
  11. Browne - rate him
  12. Joseph
  13. Austin

It's funny because you actually think that they're better than Melbourne's young list. :o

Doesn't bode well for Adelaide given one of those players was dropped numerous times in 09 & was exposed by a 3rd rate defender in Leigh Brown.
Nice attempt to at a troll.

Would expect a player with about 10 years more experience to beat a 1st year player!

By the end of 2010, you will be wishing you could swap your beloved Jack Anthony for Taylor Walker. This kid is our biggest natural forward talent since Modra.

And after the semi-final I bet you wish they'd swapped Jack for Taylor beforehand, right? ;)

Yeah I thought it was a brave effort to even post that. They've been tanking for years and even our young 10 is better than that only 2 years into a rebuild with no priority picks.

1. Hill
2. Palmer
3. Suban
4. Morabito
5. Walters
6. Ibbotson
7. Clarke
8. Mayne
9. DeBoer
10. Ruffles

Not quite the glamour or pedigree of Melbournes but handy.

for Burton ... mind you, I would have swapped Burton for Walker (Anthony didn't do much, except that pressure goal when it mattered).
