they've made it pretty public that white's getting promoted. probably just on that goal against collingwood alone. that would be an absolute Bomber (Thompson) act if they didn't.

I don't think there was really ever any doubt that White was getting bumped up to the Senior List.

I actually found it strange that they were promoting him to be honest. We usually wait until they have to be promoted, even if they deserve it, and just pay them more than a rookie wage. IIRC Jamo waited another year, so did Garlett.

It really makes no difference to his job security, as long as they pay him what he is currently worth.

I am not sure if you can take back an elevation after you have declared it though. All rookie elevations are locked in by the first list lodgment, aren't they?

I think that he got promoted because the 3 rookies that we kept on our list are the ones that will make it in the future and if we had tried to keep white on the rookie list, then we would have either had to delist one of those guys or promote them to the senior list.

And to be rather frank about it, I would prefer the club to keep Casboult and Cachia on the rookies list along with Dare.

a) Labi will be rookied (so I hear and assume)
b) O'keefe will be going onto the rookie list (direct swap)

That realistically only leaves us with two picks. One will probably be for the best available and also a ruckman. Needed room and it made sense to elevate him.
