Assuming that we keep our first Round pick (and i hope we do) i want Paul Roos to go after Lewis Johnston.

Paul Cahill is I think regarded similar to Johnstone.
Jackson (I think) Trengove, Jordan Lisle, Casey Sibosado and Steve Gaertner are players of about the size I think we're looking for.

It does seem a very promising draft.

Anyone know about NSW kids Josh Nesbitt and Brodie A'Vard? What little I've read seems promising.
Also, what's the progress of Ned Mortimer in the reserves? Did he play at all towards the end of the season?

my prediction is sam blease for pick 12.

hopefully we something like pick 20 ish for cornelius.

I hope your right, thats if we go for a mid first up, which is likely.

Other wise ill take either Lisle, Trengrove or McKernan. As KPPs

kerr:P

we'll take swift and yarran :)

I personally dont want Kerr at the Swans. It is much more imprtant to find replacements for Michael O'Loughlin and Barry Hall. O'Loughlin will retire at the end of 2009 and Barry Hall will probably retire at the end of 2010. We need to draft atleast 1 KP Forward this year so they may be ready for first team football before O'Loughlin hangs up the boots.

You keep throwing him up:confused:

Have you got any "insider juice" or special reason?

I agree Swans should go for a KPP potential pick round 1 (this draft) as priority though:thumbsu:

I dont have any inside information but i do believe that the Swans need to draft a Key Position Forward with our first round pick and from what ive read on the draft and trading board Lewis Johnston appears to be the best KP Forward who will likely be available when pick 12 comes around.

pick 6 looks a salivating prospect.

We wont get pick 6 with a straight swap with O'Keefe. Unfortunately O'Keefe isnt worth a pick 6 due to his age. To get pick 6 we will have to give up another player (a reasonably good player at that).

Not that i want to lose them but this is the only way i can see the Swans getting pick 6

O'Keefe + Buchanan (or another player who is in our best 22) = Pick 6

Carlton would probably accept a

O'Keefe + Buchanan for pick 6 deal.

Essentially they would be getting two proven players for the price of 1 unproven player.

and we would be getting ripped a new one

O'Keefe is worth pick 6 alone

I dont believe that Bigfooty poster's obsession with age is replicated at club level

If age was a trade factor in this case then it should reflect in the salary package being offered or demanded... but it has not

I wouldn't do that. Pick six is cursed....

The reality is that Buchanan probably isn't worth much. If he could be included as a sweetner in a deal, I'd be all for it. You wouldn't even miss him.

Short arms east, fat bum south, warnock east, 3 1st round picks, lots of 3rd rounders

one to sydney

solve that riddle

if we dont want buchannan then how about,

pick 6 + pick 24 + armfield = pick 12 + o'keefe + buchannan

trade with carlton?

solve that riddle

Short Arms = Kerr
Fat Bum = O'Keefe
Warnock 'East' = Carlton

Hm..

Sydney Gain:
Kerr
1st round draft pick #18 (West Coast)
3rd round draft selection #40 (Carlton)

Sydney Lose:
Ryan O'Keefe
1st round draft selection #12
3rd round draft selection #46

West Coast Gain:
1st round selection #6
1st round selection #12

West Coast Lose:
Daniel Kerr
3rd round draft selection #36

Carlton Gain:
Ryan O'Keefe
Robert Warnock
3rd round selection #46

Carlton Lose:
1st round selection #6
3rd round selection #40

Fremantle Gain:
3rd round selection #36
3rd round selection #40

Fremantle Lose:
Robert Warnock

How is that? Did I miss anything? I gave it a crack at least... not sure if Freo will take two 3rd rounders for Warnock.
