What do I want for Ottens?

There is many options when I ask myself this question.

Geelong are trying to call our bluff, they are saying they will not offer this and they will not offer that, but they are desperate for a good forward who can win them a premiership.

Heard talk that the Bulldogs have been bombarded with phone calls about their early picks. I believe its Geelong and the Kangaroos that are seeking those kinda picks to hand over to Richmond for Bradley.

In the end Richmond wont budge, Geelong will get desperate at lunchtime Friday and will give in to Richmonds wants for Ottens.

What that will be is anyones guess but I hope it goes something like this.

Geelong get: Brad Ottens

Richmond get: Kane Tenace and a top 10 pick!

How that will happen is anyones guess.

Thats what I want.

Any deal with the roos involving Jones or Sinclair are off, as both have re-signed with north. If North are still chasing it will interesting come tomorrow who they offer.

It won't be a top 10 pick if Tenace is involved, more likely 16. But I can't see Geelong wanting to part with him. He would be a top ten choice this year.

I hope the trade isn't left to the last minute, I get the feeling there are lots of other deals we'd like to do but need the Ottens deal to go through first.

My preference for Ottens is a top 10 pick and Geelong's pick 16. It all depends on what Geelong are prepared to give up to get the top ten pick. They've offered 2 players and 2 picks from what I've read, which would be a good deal, but I get the feeling we'd prefer 2 picks only to limit the salaries required.

Geelong can't trade Tenace from my understanding a player after being drafted has to be at a club for 2 years before they can be traded.

Can anyone confirm if this actually a rule? Pretty sure Port traded Brooks a couple of years ago after one year on the list.

Tenaces year was the first year new draftees had to be given two year contracts. I don't think it prevents them from being traded, but they must consent to the trade without being pressured.

This is what we want for ottens.

Pick 16, Pick 32, Enright and Gardiner from Geelong.

On-trade pick 32, enright and Gardiner to Kangaroos

For pick 10.

We end up having Pick 10 and Pick 16.

Geelong get Ottens

Kangaroos get pick 32, Enright and Gardiner.

There we go deal done. Sign sealed and delivered! was it so hard?
