Steele - I would have said Jack Steele but if its true about him missing preseason etc then it won't be him, (he'll still play well and will improve). If its only 2-3 weeks out then he is a chance too but the longer he is in the moon boot the more unlikely he is to really have that breakout season

Acres - it is his time but will he have the consistency to do just that - to have that break out year? When we recruited him he was always going to take longer. Will it be this year or next year? I'd say 2019 will be the GOAT's year

Sinclair - gets my vote - was rated elite in his position by Champion Data. Will step it up and have that breakout season.

Dunstan - I was impressed with Luke's last 6 weeks where he averaged over 100 in Supercoach from memory - hoping he can bring that for all of next season and is my dark horse

McCartin - I also add Paddy as another dark horse. I think its a case of this - if Paddy can play 15+ games and kick 30-40 goals then we play finals. It is as simple as that. He was flying before his injury but he does have a good block of preseason behind him because of last year. I really hope he can do it in 2018 but again like Acres he might be 2019

I've just named 5 players all of whom have been flying on the track over the preseason and all of whom could have that breakout year in 2018. It just shows how exciting it is going to be to follow this great club of ours over the next couple of years in particular.

I haven't been his biggest fan over his career, but I have a feeling and hope it's correct, that Dunstan will take a big step and be on his way to becoming one of the games better inside midfielders.

I really like what I have seen from White when he has played, hopefully he gets more games.

Hope White and Long are beating the door down.

Clavarino could surprise and crack a game or two. The lad looks like a ridiculously smart and natural footballer. His reaction speed and all round ball control with his hands is elite pushing freakish.

Dunstan is my vote.

Can see Billings stealing the show when chucked onball with a man's body and new found arrogance. Hard to ignore a left footer drilling daisy cutter goals from 70 out of the pack.

I'd say Acres if I was really confident that he'd get a heap more time midfield/wing, but as I'm not, I'll go Dunny, who looks primed to have a real breakout year.

Steele I reckon will be the year after and probably Sincs too, and Acres, if it's not next year.

There are a few who are just off becoming really really good players if not stars. Billings and Gresh are no brainers, a little bit of composure around goals and they become elite but the next group are the slow burners like Dunstan, Acres, Longer, Steele, Memberey, Sinclair etc. I'm not sure if any of those guys are going to be players that just explode into life, all look like Montagna types that one day you wake up and realise they just happened to become excellent over time.

Dunstan already broke out the last half of last year.

If Acres can be a bit more consistent the likes of BT and JB will be frothing like you lot already are.

Longs body language tells me he now feels comfortable about where he is and that he feels he belongs.
Expect him to make a huge jump in performance this year.

I reckon Dustan needs to put together a season before we can bank the improvement. Acres had a very good last month or two as well. They both need to consolidate their gains now.

Armitage has more chance of getting back to his best than Ablett has at the Cats and if he does it will be good for the likes of Ross , Steven , Steele , Dunstan , Acres , Billings , Sinclair , Gresham , Stevens which will allow these guys to get on the outside and give us more run and carry.
