Looking at training reports and reading articles i am very optimistic with the youth coming through.

Weller, blakely, langdon, alex pearce all look good and are exciting prospects.

One guy that really excites me with how quickly hes coming on is ethan hughes. He has come back in great shape and i might be gettin ahead of myself but i think he will be in the team round one off a flank.

What do u guys think?

I think Weller, Langdon and Blakely are certainties to get opportunities this year. Whether they stay fit and/or make the most of the chance is another matter. But they will get games.

Hughes needs to clean up his disposal to be considered with these three but he should get a game or two.

Unless we have a raft of injuries I'd say Balic and Tucker will have to wait.

From his running efforts today, Yarren seems to be progressing well in rehab and the fitness demands don't seem to be bothering him but again he'll need injuries to one of Walters, Balla, Mayne to get a look in.

Collins is best placed simply just due to the fact that we don't have much KP depth and Silva is always bloody injured.

Number one hope is Alex Pearce gets 20+ games.
Bennell is a given and I also hope Yarran is in from Rnd 1.

After watching some of our games this week my smokey is Brady Grey. If Sutcliffe has another poor run of form I could see him being dropped for Grey.

Sutty isn't a great 1v1 defender and if he doesn't get back to 2014 form where he provided both an accurate kick out of the backline and some run and carry then I can see Grey coming in. Not in the same role but as a lock down small defender like he did in Rnd 23 against Wingard. Sherro/Johnson will provide the run out of the backline.

I want to see my bud Zac get fit and play the end of the year like the first half last season. I think Harley will be obviously a gun and Yarran was not brought in to play for peel.
So Zac to give us 15 to 20 goals, Harley to hit leading forwards and 20 plus goals and Yarran hopefully 30 odd.
Optimistic yes but they can do it.

I am thinking that some of the guys who are due to take their game to the next level or find some form will need to quick smart or be overtaken by Weller, Blakely, Langdon, Tucker etc. guys in this category include Sheridan, Crozier, Sutcliffe, Mayne, Taberner probably a bit harsh but Suban and deBoer who are 50-150 game players.

It's a great position to be in nonetheless.

Don't agree on putting Sheridan or Tabs on that list, I think Sherro had an impressive 2015, improving greatly as the season progressed.

Agree on the rest.

Sherro had a fine 2015. Purely based on 2015, I think Sutty should be closer to the firing line.

Hoo , the problem with zac is play well or not he will walk out on freo end of season very tricky situation.

No mate my info is he loves Freo, good year good contract. Sandi is the key on how long he plays on, at the moment he's firing on all cylinders but the end can happen quickly.

I hope to see Bennell and A Pearce in the round 1 side. Trouble is if they're in then 2 are missing out from last years finals side.
If that is the case its hard to see anyone else get a look in bar injuries.
Personally I'd like to see Grey, Hughes, Weller, Langdon, Blakely given opportunity although I'm not holding my breath.
The first year players we know are pretty much no chance although I think Balic could be special.

AP, Bennell and Griff all seem certain to crack the best 22 come round 1. We'll have to wait for the intra-club before we add any one else to that list. I share everyone's enthusiasm for Hughes but I think Scham is spot on with his assessment.
Same goes for Langdon, his body shape hasn't changed much over the break which is unusual for a youngster, just look at Blakely, Hughes and Weller. I think Langdon will play a lot of WAFL again this year although I acknowledge he will be a good player when his time comes.
Tabs must be borderline best 22.
I can't believe someone as talented as Blakely is not going to be close to best 22 but that says a lot about the strength of our midfield.
Not sure about Brady the Grey, if he's returned from the Xmas break as Brady the White he might be a chance.

Hopefully one of Blakely, Langdon or Weller. Langdon the most likely.
Alex Pearce and Bennell are shoe ins. Would love to see Morra make it.

Crozier, Grey, AP and Yarran are most likely to break in IMO
