1) Take away the top 5 or 6 players and Carltons list is WEAK. They will not be challenging anytime soon.

2) 18?? Yeah - good luck with that mate.

3) Essendon are a reasonable chance to be premiership competitive in 2011.

So you'd be a good side without McVeigh, Hille, Lloyd, Lucas, Fletcher and Stanton?

In fact.....Geelong would be pretty average without Ablett, Bartel, Corey, Scarlett, Selwood and Johnson.

a good team has a wide spread of players. your list revolves around the same players week after week.

Seriously though I rate the Bomber's flag chances ahead of Carltons over the next 5 years. Picking up Cousins could see them playing into the 2nd week of September.

Yeah, after all, 4 goals a game is only 88 goals a year, that's not a huge return for an average forward

Also you can remove those six names from Geelong and their list still looks fairly imposing.

That's fair enough, at this point in time. Though, most Carlton fans expect Murphy, Grigg, Gibbs, Yarran, Jamison, Walker, Bower, Kruezer, Warnock to be able to step up. (Hampson in a couple of years)

There's no doubt our talent drops off after the top 5-6 players more sharply than other clubs (evidenced by our rd3 loss to Essendon) during the year though we saw some great performances by the above mentioned which should translate over the next few years...IMO anyway

If "most" forwards kicked 4 goals every week, you would have 6 players in every team kicking 80+ goals for the season.

...seems most forwards in the competition just aren't pulling their weight.

You misread me. Did i say every game? No. I said most dedicated forwards have the capability to kick 4 goals in a match. 4 goals in one match isn't a huge return.

I second that. Most forwards should be able to score 4 goals in a match. To average 4 goals a game is entirely different.

I think many supporters very much doubt our team, and that's fine. Love being the underdog, takes all the pressure off us.

But, when we do win a flag again soon, maybe in 3 years time, we'll be going...

Essendons list is nowhere near ours!! They will finish 15 just above melbourne ....and won't get any draft picks due to GC17. This poll is laughable!
