I think we've already established that Nathan will play this week v. Port?
Isn't that what Bomber said? I know what he says to the media isn't greatly reliable but still...

It depends on how he plays this week, really.

Definetly Nath will be played.

I would give him a rest for 1 week, bring in Hawkins for experience and nothing else, and then bring Nath back in round 22 and for finals. But i don't make the selections. His sirname will keep him in.

Bomber has said Nathan will play, although he has a history this year of saying one thing in the press early in the week and doing something completely different later.

Nath has been down for several weeks now,he's not kicking with his right leg at all and looks sore.
He will be given every opportunity to find form and regain fitness and touch simply because he is the best option and miles ahead of Gardiner and PLayfair. Thommo will not play 3 ruckman in the finals(he hasn't all year despite his claims)and therefore Otto will not be played as a forward except for a few minutes during Qtr's when a mismatch happens.

Nathan and all going well he might have a big game.....

He is more than capable and might just turn it on.

How good would that be leading into the finals. :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

I'd say that Bomber will persist with Nabblet even though he is out of touch.

As much as I loath Charlie I think he should play this week and here is why:

1) Nablett needs to get his hands on the ball if he is going to be out 2nd tall in September. Drop him back to the VFL and get his confidence back up. While Nablett is in the VFL promote Charlie for his absolute last chance to prove himself.

2) This absolute last chance will let the club know where he is at. If Nablett is infact the better option for September then put him back in but at least Charlie will have been "advertised" to the other clubs and should elevate his trade value come the end of the year.

Good points, I agree.

Nate to play as we already know.

He lead up well last week just missed his marks, needs to hold these but is still better than charlie or hank.

Still takes a prime defender away and releases others, we are scoring well and imo we can afford to try and settle the team coming into finals.

If we play charlie it is a step backwards, same with hank, would not mind seeing toma back for a couple games instead of the 3rd ruck option all talk has been about

Toma would still demand a very good defender and we all know he can mark and kick goals, will get better next year but the time is now. Many clubs in finals unleash a newbie at least with toma we have seen a bit of him let him get a taste as he will form part of the 3 key forwards from next year.

Mooney, N Ablett and Hawkins
Johnson, Chapman, Stokes, Varcoe, GAJ

we have waited many years for a potent fwd line and we are finally seeing one develop and emerge lets go fwd not backwards

I would not think that either Nablett or Hawkins are guaranteed key position forward spots next year. If Grima gets elevated (and the powers that be at GFC should be drug tested if he dosen't) he may very well be able to nudge one of them out of the way.

On the news it has been announced that H and Charlie have been named with Selwood (injured) and King dropped.

If we play charlie it is a step backwards,

I totally agree here. Nothing but a step backwards if we play Charlie. I have nothing against him and his VFL form has been good this year but he's definately had his chance and this club needs to keep moving forward. In my books, if Nablett isn't playing, then Hawkins does. No other option at the moment for the development of Tom.
