Who will we draft ?

Well the national draft is just weeks away.
So I reckon we need to make a ruckman the first priority.

One guy who will go in the first round is Mark Jamar from North Adelaide. This kid came in and led norths rucks in the sanfl this year, getting in the best often. He is destined for essendon..........hopefully !

Also heres a smokey........ James Byrne. Was delisted by the crows but shouldnt have been, has enough pace and ball getting skills to be considered by essendon as we need this in the midfield. Dominates the SANFL playing for the mighty bays (glenelg) when not playing for the crows. Came to Glenelg from Wagga tigers where daniher coached him, this link could land him at essendon !

jamar will go top ten

byrne is a very average footballer
and what do we really need to add to our midfield that we dont already have
mcgrath and peverill, and fully a fully fit heffernan, blumfield, misiti, and caracella is plenty enough to help out the likes of johnson and rama
bullen and bannister will also come on next year

if we are to draft a "recycled" player i think it will be brett o'farrel
he has got a lot of ability but there is a HUGE question mark over his fitness

we will probably draft 5 kids
id say one key back with our father son pick
a ruckman
and a couple of midfielders

We have chosen not to use a second round pick for father and
son. I think Walshy may be referring to Justin Crow. I think the
nomination for father and son had to go in last week.

I think that Jamar is rated more of a second round draft pick. The
two big men that have been bandied around as first round are
Brookes and Hale.

I would definately like to see us pick up Jamar, who could be
a backup for Allessio/Hille as he already is of a good size, or
Mark Seaby.

Jamar is top 20 material....which with the number of priority picks this year, would make him a lot closer to your first than your second round pick.

Father and son is 3rd round this year but we didn't take anyone.

I would like to see us take the best player with our first pick
regardless of type. Second pick we should take either Jamar,
Brookes or Seaby (hopefully one will be available)

Some of you may have heard of a guy called James Kelly who plays for the cannons this year.I was talking top him the other day and he said Essendon looks very keen on him and told him they may take him with there first pick.He is widely regarded as a first or second round pick anyway so there is a fair chance he could be on his way to bomberland.He is a midsize player with a good mark for his size and is a good atlete and hard at it.The greatest quality he has though is his work ethic.He is a great runner.
