A much quieter game from Arki this week, but when you're a top 5 prospect the bad will get scrutinized along with the good. He played more through the midfield than forward but struggled to get into the game in either role. He did have a couple of instances where his pace and disposal were able to cut through, but those were few and far between.

Huge numbers from Noah Williams who seemed to be involved in everything. His repeat efforts in contested situations is a real standout trait, and his tackling pressure in particular was immense here. His ability to damage with the ball continues to be somewhat stifled in the closer confines of the inside midfield role, so it'll be interesting to watch if he can find more space on the spread as the season progresses.

I think Victoria have some nice top end talent.
Butler and Williams have class.
gayfer is a nice sized key position.
Knapp, texiera and krasna all good midfield options.
Van hattum is a massive unit. Is he Dawson Simpson or can he develop into a damaging ruck forward.

Cody T related to Eli?

A benefit of the end of first round bid idea is that we wouldn't have to use said picks, we could add them to a package for players, like how Brisbane did with a priority pick to get Charlie.
the other benefit is moving this free pick in 2026 to possible multiple 2027 picks as a more compromised draft

The problem is, the AFL can’t award the picks until the draft is live. So we have to use them at the draft.

live trade them into 2027 for mine
Why wouldn’t you use the pick? 2027 is going to be compromised by Tassie

We need a range of players still but high on the list is a combination of leadership / skill / above average pace / competitiveness as far as the small to medium types go.

need points for Darwish, Bewick, Rodan

I'm even considering trading back pick 1 after bidding on walker. Open to offers.
Will we? That’s a long way off. Who knows if any/all of those will be first round picks.

Does anyone with more intimate knowledge of the JHA/Calder have any details about Justice, Bewick, Darwish and Rodan.

Bewick is pretty well known but I'd be interested what position people think the others could play and what their main strengths are - hopefully speed and ball use.

Will be interested to see where Rodan ends up as Port already have Pilot and Salopek in 2027.

A real day out for Seb Marsic who almost single handedly kicked the Chargers to victory with his big bag of seven goals. He presented strongly all game and took a couple of really nice contested marks, but absolutely maximized the chances that came his way on the day, and it'll be interesting to see if he can back up this performance going forward. The most impressive part of his game might have been the tackling pressure he applied which is valuable trait for a modern tall forward.

we have a whole thread dedicated to these boys

We have holes everywhere.
With Bryan, Blakiston and visentini all listed I would look at midfield or forward 50.
Harry is an imposing son of a gun though.
Yeah probably not our most urgent need but looks like a genuine gun. Our list is like swiss cheese though, could argue we need to fill holes in all areas of the ground.
