0. 1,505 GOALS - Gary Ablett Snr. (1,031 Goals), Gary Ablett Jnr. (428 Goals), Nathan Ablett (46 Goals) - STILL ACTIVE.

1. 1,459 GOALS - Gary Ablett Snr. (1,031 Goals) & Gary Ablett Jnr. (428 Goals) - STILL ACTIVE

2. 1,361 GOALS - Gordon Coventry (1,299 Goals) & Syd Coventry (62 Goals).
3. 1,360 GOALS - Tony Lockett (1,360 Goals) & Non-Existent VFL/AFL Brother, Father, Son or Cousin. Only daughters right?
4. 1,328 GOALS - Nick Riewoldt (718 Goals) & Jack Riewoldt (610 Goals) - STILL ACTIVE

5. 1,254 GOALS - Jason Dunstall (1,254 Goals) & Non-Existent VFL/AFL Brother, Father, Son or Cousin. Right?

The Riewoldts are 131 Goals behind the Ablett Father-Son now, 177 Goals behind the immediate family of the currently playing Gary Ablett and 174 short of being the first Family duo to hit 1,500 Goals between them which looks a very good chance to go to the Gary Abletts.

Can Gary Ablett Jnr. catch the the other 'Son' with 400 Goals Paul Hudson on 479 Goals? Will require at least two more years playing as a permanent forward one would think - which would also take the Ablett duo over 1,500 Goals all-up...

Tough, but not impossible, but in all likelihood unlikely as many would agree 2020 is likely to be Ablett's last season......

70 Goals from Jack Riewoldt in 2018 which obviously won't be repeated in 2019 given Jack's injury troubles. It will be touch and go whether Jack can power the Riewoldts past Tony Lockett and the Coventry Brothers in 2019..... 34 Goals required to put the Riewoldts into second-place overall - although will definitely be achieved in 2020 barring injury... but the Abletts are slipping away at the top of the tree - nearly 100 goals in front of the Coventry Brothers now!

The Riewoldts are 132 Goals behind the Ablett Father-Son now, 178 Goals behind the immediate family of the currently playing Gary Ablett and 171 short of being the first Family duo to hit 1,500 Goals between them which looks a very good chance to go to the Gary Abletts.

1 goal for Gaz, 0 goals for Jack - but Jack gets another week to add to his 2019 tally......

Will Gazza play on in 2020 to extend the record????

Can Gary Ablett Jnr. catch the the other 'Son' with 400 Goals Paul Hudson on 479 Goals? Gary Ablett kicked 34 goals in 2019......

Interestingly Ablett needs 33 goals in 2020 for the father-son Gary Abletts to hit 1,500 Goals between them - which would be the first family duo to do so ever......
Gary Ablett needs 44 goals to become the father-son with the most goals for a Father who kicked at least 400 Goals......
And Gary Ablett needs 64 goals to himself kick at least 500 goals - a task that would require at least 2 more years that would seem unlikely given he surely won't be playing in Season 2021......

Tough, but two of the three goals are definitely achievable in Season 2020 which may be Ablett's last season...... Or can he play on into 2021.....

Jack has a few years left yet and will surely power the Riewoldts past Tony Lockett and the Coventry Brothers in 2020..... 18 Goals required to put the Riewoldts into second-place overall - but the Abletts are slipping away at the top of the tree - now over 100 goals in front of the Coventry Brothers!

Season 2019 is over - and the big question is - will Gary Ablett be playing on in Season 2020?!?!?!? Surely Gaz has one final season in him after a pretty good 2019?

5 goals for Jack in the Grand Final was a big haul, and brings Jack right up behind Alastair Lynch (633 Goals) on the All-Time Goal-kicking list........

Jack has a few years left yet and will surely power the Riewoldts past Tony Lockett and the Coventry Brothers in 2020..... 13 Goals required to put the Riewoldts into second-place overall - but the Abletts are slipping away at the top of the tree - now over 100 goals in front of the Coventry Brothers!

64 Goals for Gary - 500 Goals (Only 61st VFL/AFL Player to reach this milestone) - Probably requires 2 more years of AFL Footy for Gary - is that beyond him?!?!?!? (2020/21).
69 Goals for Jack - 700 Goals (Only 24th VFL/AFL Player to reach this milestone)

70 Goals for Jack - 701 Goals - Overtaking Matthew Pavlich (700 Goals) in 23rd All-Time

170 Goals for Jack - 801 Goals - Overtaking Matthew Richardson (800 Goals) in 12th All-Time (Looking forward now, at the end of the 2019 AFL Season it's possible Jack ends up very close to both Matthew & Kevin barring injury - jousting for second place on the All-Time Richmond goal-kicking list behind Jack Titus (970 Goals) - which looks beyond Jack 340 Goals away...

2 More Years for Gary and 4 More Years for Jack would likely see all the above accomplished.

0. 1,513 GOALS - Gary Ablett Snr. (1,031 Goals), Gary Ablett Jnr. (436 Goals), Nathan Ablett (46 Goals) - STILL ACTIVE.

The Riewoldts are 118 Goals behind the Ablett Father-Son now, 164 Goals behind the immediate family of the currently playing Gary Ablett and 151 short of being the first Family duo to hit 1,500 Goals between them which looks a very good chance to go to the Gary Abletts (33 goals required) in Season 2020.

Simon and Justin Madden have 575 + 190 goals, which is a lot for two non-forwards. Admittedly, ruckman used rest up forward, and not the bench in those days.

I'm guessing no one pointed out to Tony at the time that he was only 2 goals short of overtaking the Coventry "Brothers" - probably no one realised...

3 GOALS TO JACK TO CLOSE THE GAP TO JUST OVER 100 GOALS TO THE ABLETTS.....

0. 1,519 GOALS - Gary Ablett Snr. (1,031 Goals), Gary Ablett Jnr. (442 Goals), Nathan Ablett (46 Goals) - STILL ACTIVE.

1. 1,473 GOALS - Gary Ablett Snr. (1,031 Goals) & Gary Ablett Jnr. (442 Goals) - STILL ACTIVE
2. 1,365 GOALS - Nick Riewoldt (718 Goals) & Jack Riewoldt (647 Goals) - STILL ACTIVE

3. 1,361 GOALS - Gordon Coventry (1,299 Goals) & Syd Coventry (62 Goals).
4. 1,360 GOALS - Tony Lockett (1,360 Goals) & Non-Existent VFL/AFL Brother, Father, Son or Cousin.
5. 1,254 GOALS - Jason Dunstall (1,254 Goals) & Non-Existent VFL/AFL Brother, Father, Son or Cousin.
6. 1,206 GOALS - Peter Hudson (727 Goals) & Paul Hudson (479 Goals).
7. 1,163 GOALS - Saverio Rocca (748 Goals) & Anthony Rocca (415 Goals).
8. 1,084 GOALS - Leigh Matthews (915 Goals) & Kelvin Matthews (169 Goals).
9. 1,057 GOALS - Doug Wade (1,057 Goals) & Non-Existent VFL/AFL Brother, Father, Son or Cousin.
10. 970 GOALS - Jack Titus (970 Goals) & Non-Existent VFL/AFL Brother, Father,Son or Cousin.

The Riewoldts are now 108 Goals behind the Ablett Father-Son, 154 Goals behind the immediate family of the currently playing Gary Ablett and 135 short of being the first Family duo to hit 1,500 Goals between them which looks a good chance to go to the Gary Abletts (27 goals required) in Season 2020.

Can Gary Ablett Jnr. catch the the other 'Son' with 400 Goals Paul Hudson on 479 Goals? Ablett Jnr. is now 37 goals behind Paul Hudson......

Ablett needs 27 more goals in 2020 for the father-son Gary Abletts to hit 1,500 Goals between them - which would be the first family duo to do so ever......
Gary Ablett Jnr. needs 38 more goals to become the father-son with the most goals for a Father who kicked at least 400 Goals......
And Gary Ablett needs 58 goals to himself kick at least 500 goals - a task that would require at least 2 more years that would seem unlikely given he surely won't be playing in Season 2021......

The Riewoldts are 106 Goals behind the Ablett Father-Son, 152 Goals behind the immediate family of the currently playing Gary Ablett and 133 short of being the first Family duo to hit 1,500 Goals between them which is still a small, small, chance, to go to the Gary Abletts (27 goals required) in Season 2020.

Can Gary Ablett Jnr. catch the the other 'Son' with 400 Goals Paul Hudson on 479 Goals? Ablett Jnr. is now 37 goals behind Paul Hudson...... It would seem GA Jnr. would only have a chance of overhauling Paul Hudson by playing on into 2021..... Will he?!? Apparently not.....
