60kgs and never contested yet alone won a race past 2400m, i just reckon that weight was utterly bizarre and went against everything the handicappers have shown us over the past 15yrs with the melb cup now being a quality handicap and not a true handicap. Either the handicappers rated Northerly an absolute freak superstar once in a generation horse, or they had multiples going into media puzzle.Itd be 2500 at Flemington Deej,Dulcify would just get past him.
Youre just jealous cos Northerly wasnt pitchforked into a M Cup by the VRC.

Your opinion on the WFA scale says it all.If you wanted to be serious about it and knew anything about racing why make it WFA? WFA is outdated and a bit of a farce.Surely you'd make it set weights which is obviously the only pure form of racing. .

This is mostly an anti-diva board so it’s not really surprising the discussion went down this road.
In reply to those who quoted me, i’d just be repeating what i said about weights and comparisons to other smaller average Cox Plate fields.

Just to be fair I would make an exception here and give the Diva a penalty maybe 3-4kg just to make it interesting. Carrying big weights doesn’t phase her in the slightest, so it would make no difference maybe reduce the winning margin a little.
She outdoes them on every level - strength, speed, power, heart, stamina - it's all stacked in her favour.
Your opinion on the WFA scale says it all.
I rest my case Starz.

I feel sillier for replying but here goes. WFA has stood the test of time and is the true gauge of class. I can adapt an old saying for- Better to have people think you've got no clue about racing than to put up posts like that and remove all doubt. You’ve got absolutely no idea if you really believe that.
WFA racing is an outdated handicap format from the 1800’s based on sex/age/distance/month
Set weight racing is a flawless straight up contest, there’s no handicap.
That would be the ONLY logical way to settle a race like this.
