Who's better?? Part 2

These votes are to find out who's going to be the next player to play both forms of the game for Australia. And to find out which player is better.

Katich will probably be the first of the 2 to play both forms of the game..only simply because he is already in the Test team...and is still in great form in the ODD series.

I would suggest Michael Clarke is better though.

Katich has actually already played a ODI for Australia although he didn't bat (or bowl). I think it was at the 'G from memory.

At this stage Katich is the better of the two. Which isn't to say Clarke won't eventually be better but I think he's a bit of a way off just yet. Apart from the last two domestic 1st class seasons Katich was on fire with the bat. I think he made a century against every state in the pura cup - even occuring two seasons ago that is an impressive feat and demonstrates the bloke has talent.

Katich would have his nose just ahead at this stage, although Clarke is still only 21, not many players can break into the Aussie team or squad in either form at that age, (few exceptions; ie - Watson). Clarke will be a great player in both forms, and I expect hime to be a regular in both sides within the next 12-18 months.
Katich's bowling is the reason why his come back into the picture. Could be room for both in the team with Waugh expected to retire in the near future. Good luck to both of them!!

Clarke easilly. He can also bowl handy offies when he's needed (like the ODI in Adelaide last year against Sri Lanka I think)

I don't remember Katich playing one-dayers...although the fact that he didn't bat or bowl probably explains why.

I'm interested to know on what basis are people saying Clarke is better than Katich?

The only thing I can think of is potential and that doesn't make someone better?
