Closed earlier in the year. Re-opened with new owners and the same name, but it's turned into some wanky, fancy place that has an champagne bar where you can eat caviar and oysters.

Wasn't the Checkside Tavern at AAMI originally the crows bar or something along those lines?
Always thought the place was too small and am suprised to see it is still in business to be honest with AAMI now closed

Yes menu was poor understand gameday means limited selections but was sub standard each time i ate there before a game.
Don't know if it is any better to survive now? No parking other than across at Westfield doesn't help either

The riverbank precinct is the only place we should be IMO.

Like mentioned earlier, get in early and reap the rewards once the area is fully developed.

I hope that the AFC are already in negotiations with developers, we play our cards pretty close to our chest these days so who knows.

It used to be quite good 5 or 6 years ago and we used to go 3 or 4 times a year. Then they removed the crows banding and changed the menu, I don't think we have been once in the past 3 years.

I don't think it will survive, unless they are doing a very good trade with the pokies. We have no reason to go over to West Lakes but we do go to a city location for dinner either every Friday or Saturday night. Would happily change for a crows pub.

Must have changed the menu. It now looks like a tradtional pub menu to cater to a broader demographic.

Coopers is actually a very popular beer outside SA, in SA it's just boring old coopers, but outside it's almost viewed as a premium beer, a CBD Coopers pub would be hugely popular with visiting interstaters. It's probably Australia's favourite South Aussie, the AFL probably wouldn't allow them to be a sponsor but if I was Fagan I would be doing everything I could to have the club associated with their brand.

Not sure us owning a pub with pokies is such a good idea, given the amount of old ladies who are in the crowd normally, we'd need to get Ports tarps to cover up the gaps when they all stay at the pub for just a few more lucky spins on gameday

Yep. When you walk over the bridge and turn right just before the road. Walk up that incline and a pub in that area would be perfect.
