Since when is boxing about physical strength? Speed, skill, movement just as important.

I'd also say Shane is pretty tough and could box if he wanted. Apparently before the KO he took many a blow last night.

What it seems he's done is made the mistake of bighting off more than he could chew with the opponent and not having the skills and ability to last in that fight.

Has little to do with an AFL background, Rugby League background or any other sport. He just wasn't a good enough boxer last night and hopefully he quits for that reason.

He was beat by experience, pure and simple

If he reassesses, goes back and trains properly, and picks an appropriate opponent, I'd love to see him give it another go. But one thing with boxing, if you aren't prepared to commit to it 100% you will be pounded (in which case he should hang em up)

From an Aussie rules fan's point of view, rugby league consists of a bunch of big blokes ramming themselves into other big blokes until one bloke gets through and scores a try. Not bad practise for boxing - learning to hit and be hit tactically.

He was actually beaten by Lucas Miller (who was having just his second professional fight) and his own total lack of boxing ability.

One of his friends or handlers should've pulled him up by the sleeve and told him he wasn't good enough to fight pro as blind Freddy could see he was woefully underqualified to fight professionally. He was making mistakes an amateur junior fighting with headgear and pillows for gloves makes. It's lucky he didn't get more badly hurt.

A lot of sports people do a bit of boxing in their exercise regimes. When you're beating up pads a bag or another novice you can easily over rate yourself. Get in the ring with someone with experience, you get smashed. Back down to earth. I noticed mr tuck was not taught defense, what most good boxing schools teach first, before learning to throw. He was wide open for that final hook-uppercut. Completely unprepared. I hope he is okay.
