This is the issue we face atm with our veterans, whilst they’re playing good footy still, at some stage you just might have to let one or 2 go so the up and comers can get their chances. We’ve seen a bit of these kids to know they’ll be good footballers, but we need to make sure we can keep them and not be poached with offers of more minutes.

I saw someone the other day saying Allan is out for good now Steele is in. Massive overreaction, it’s one game and Allan has shown enough to still be first choice. He just needs consistency and that will come from more games.

Allan has shown enough but he's already had something like 10 games.
Roan Steele had one and impressed with first game.
I don't want to lose Ed but I also think Steele needs more games to see how good he can be.
I don't know if it has to be one or the other.
We also need to get Parker in more senior games.

Steele only has a 6 month contract, don't you think the club will need to see more before extending his contract?

I think there are others who will ultimately replace WHE, including those on our injury list or in the team right now.

I think Roan is actually probably a Sidebottom/Crisp replacement as a wingman in the coming years, but not ready to replace them this year.

I also think he showed a bit last week, and that there isn't as big a gap between he and Ed Allan as some might have though.

They would probably already know if they want him for next year. He'll get a contract. He was recruited with this year in mind and he'll be very handy leading up to finals. His spot beyond that would probably depend on injuries

I rate Will highly. Think he can be an excellent long term player for us.
Wouldn’t be surprised if a few opposition clubs try and tempt him away saying Pez and Houston will limit his chances

I'm talking long term. Roan has only played one game. Roan will take over WHE role.

I’d have to watch the game again but I thought Roan spent more time at half forward than the wing.

Either way though given how tight for spots we and how our interconnected some roles are he’ll be in competition with Allan this year either directly or indirectly.
