Yep, I think that’s what the average fan seems to underestimate.

Wilkie has been consistent all year. Blokes like Andrews had some amazing patches but also had an average patch as well. I literally cannot recall Wilkie playing a bad game at all this year.

What I wish they’d show is goals conceded whilst playing on an opponent. I have no doubt at all in my mind that Weitering and Andrews both concede more goals to their direct opponent than Cal does.

The best part is that Cal is the best full back in the league, better than any other full back.
Somebody that supports another team could visit our board and suggest that their full back is better because they played half a season and were a number #1 draft pick, but they'd obviously be wrong. Because Cal is the best full back in the league.

Yep. Charlie Curnow kicked (the coleman medalist) one goal on him in an effort where we fell away in the second half and he blanketed Jeremy Cameron in round 23 to help us get the win and secure our finals as well. When you look at his versatility and some of his individual performances it becomes clear that he and Sicily are the clear KPD choices, with Andrews a bit stiff, but probably slightly less versatile.

Wilkie should be our skipper. Oozes leadership, stays on the park, and is now officially recognised as one of the elite players in the game.

Wilkie hasn't missed a game in four seasons, the last two being named in the AA squad. Each year he's improved and this year he has been stellar. The commentators have been talking him up for AA since the first few rounds. He's hardly played a bad game.

I'd say too w*nkers like King if Wilkie isn't AA this year what could he possibly do to get selected. It would be impossible for him to do any more.

Off topic but I noticed that Nathan Buckley was the only judge to vote for Mitch Owens to win the Rising Star. Never liked Buckley as a player or coach but reckon he's a decent analyst. He also seems to have a bit of a soft spot for the Saints.

I had 0 expectations of Wilkie making it, but so glad the AA selectors recognised how unbeatable he has been, he took a scalp pretty much every week

Only dropped below 23 disposals twice in the past 45 games, once against Sydney (17) in 2022 and Hawthorn (18) this year.

So consistent despite copping attention from the opposition each week. I think he’s our best player, can’t wait to watch him light it up in finals.

In the AA team they normally have a ruck, or second ruck, on the interchange.

ie Nic Nat, Max Gawn, Grundy all have been in the AA team on the IC.

Statistically there was very little difference between English and Marshall this year. And Marshal was better in many areas.

Just as they did with the three rucks named Marshal should have been on the IC if not first ruck.
