Interesting to see that although chapman was named in the VFL Side, he didnt play.. does this suggest he will line up in the seniors tommorow?

any thoughts?

This is like the 100th thread on Chapman.

He was named as an emergency, so I doubt he'll play.

Its hard to imagine Varcs not playing. There would absolutely no point in keepng Varcoe fresh just in case someone doesn't make it to the starting line. Its far more important for Varcoe to have a solid hit out this weekend, even if its in the reserves, than to cover for a chance out. The fact that he didn't play in the twos is a dead give-away - probably Ottens, but it could be anybody.

If Chappy was injured, why would they name him an emergency?
What if Ottens is a late withdrawl and then someone does something in the warm-up. Varcoe to play but who would be the second? I doubt they'd chance it with an injured Chappy and Hunt, who played today in the 2's...

Chappy was probably a 50-50 chance of pulling up after the final few training runs I'd imagine. If he was right to go, he would, but I'm guessing there was enough hesitancy to err on the side of caution (rightly, I'd say). Then again, I reckon there's a 10% chance the club will pull something out of left field and have him play..

Hunt had some prolonged stints on the bench, as far as I know, so I'd imagine he would be in some reasonable shape to be an option off the bench if something ordinary happened during the warm-ups.

Thompson was quoted earlier in the week that if it was a final Chapman would play.If the above scenario were to happen (unlikely) I'm sure Chappy could put in for a Qtr or 2.

Bomber has made comments like this before and not followed through. I'd take what he says with a grain of salt because he seems to love BSing the media ;)
