Now ive heard different opinions of people before i saw the footage the commentators were going crazy like kerr had had just punched murphy straight in the balls, but when i saw it i didnt really think there was much in it just a bumb behind play which murphy went to the ground like he had just been hit by a truck and then got up 20 seconds later, so what do you think out for a week, safe , fine, repremand.

I think he should be safe. To the letter of the law I don't believe it's a strike, even though it was a total cheap shot. It's no worse than a lot of the argy-bargy you see between players, it just happened to get Murphy right in the sternum.

With his past and reputation though, anything could happen.

I would be more worried about Adam Selwood: Reported for striking Russell in Q3
Anyone see that?

And they say Gibbs is soft?

Nothing in it, but given his record and reputation (following on from that faux headbutt last week)

Makes suspension a certainty.

I hope I'm wrong.
I assume you mean Murphy who was looking at the umpire ready to bounce the ball.
I would have thought you would be concerned with the lack of discipline by the bloke who is the centre of your midfield especially after the previous week and all the other examples through the years. Like our problems with Fev when are these guys going to learn?!!

Exactly blue gunslinger :thumbsu: these guys are paid thousands of dollars to play football. They are given all the help they need in counselling etc to try and help them yet they run out there and still knock guys over.

Kerr should smash some of his team mates for not helping him out.

I was merely referring to the fact that many call Gibbs (Squibbs) soft. And that Murphy went down like he was shot. I mean come on Kerr wouldnt of taken the skin off a rice pudding with that knock..

Why would I be concerned by his lack of discipline?? It's not as if we havent seen all this before. It was only ever a matter of time before he acted out again.

Don't get me wrong I'm not condoning what Kerr did for a moment.. Just another dumb act in a long line of dumb acts.

Simple show of strength from a bloke who was being held in a tag BEFORE the bounce....

The issue here, and its now happened twice this year, is Murphy - he has gone down like the proverbial sack of shit twice. Once got a Docker a suspension (subsequently overturned) and this may achieve a similar result. He went down in a very soccer kind of way and stayed down similarly - it was a very very soft effort from him... I wonder if Judd would have gone down like that or Ratten or Williams??

Perhaps not.

No chance.

In Williams' case, he probably would've belted him.

Or given him that Greg Williams evil grin/look - which let you know he was going to belt you sometime soon.

In fact if Williams was playing WITH Murphy, he might have belted him for being such a wuss....

I am glad Kerry let one go. I wish every Eagles player did it more often. In recent times, we've been on the losing end of all the pushing and shoving and it's about time we let our opponents know that we aren't just going to cop in a meek, gutless fashion.

Let's lay some heavy tackles and rub some faces in the ground. Let's start a few scraps and win them as a team. Let's shirtfront some blokes 20m off the ball. Let's cop a few fines and maybe a few short suspensions here and there. Cause a few opposition players to look over their shoulders and question whether they want run back with the flight of the ball. Now is the perfect time to do it. It wouldn't matter if Lynch missed a couple of games for pollaxing an opponent in the first quarter. When he comes back, he might command some respect from his opponent.

Christ, if ever there was a time to make a statement and show our young blokes that they will be looked after and that they are part of team that will protect them, it's now.

Kerry hasn't lost the plot, he's the only one showing some balls.

On principle, we must challenge that.

1 week, utter crap. Kerr, really hard done by this.

Yep challenge it, Murphy is pathetic. Kerr was silly to do it but still, we need him more than ever this week.

West Coast's Daniel Kerr is in a similar situation, with his striking offence against Carlton's Marc Murphy unable to be reduced with an early plea owing to his bad record.

He has a total of 10 matches suspended within the last three years, which increases the penalty by 50 per cent to 187.50 points. He also has 10.38 demerit points carried over from within the last 12 months, further boosting the tally to 197.88 points.

Kerr has been handed a one-match sanction for the pre-game strike on Murphy, and will need to fight the charge at the tribunal if he is to play against Geelong on Sunday.

Not much luck for him dropping over 100 points for it.

Murphy what a childish wimp and his mate Gibbs is not far behind him.Anyhow Knavey blue all the best for the rest of the season. What a class team you have!!

I am just surprised that you guys accept that your best player continually puts himself into positions where he may be suspended! I would have thought that perhaps you should focus your anger on him rather than Murph, or whoever it is that is the focus of Kerrs attention. He needs to grow up and act like the senior player that he is. He continually lets his young teammates down by getting himself made not available. Not good enough! :thumbsd:
