I've just seen on the news the violence directed at Victory supporters after the A-league game last night, now I'm coming for the United vs Heart game and as a Heart supporter is it going to be safer for myself and my four year old boy to not wear our Heart supporter wear?

It's just Melbourne Victory and maybe the odd Sydney (whoever the **** they are) games where the violence escalates to the point of stupidity.

It wasn't directed , it was antagonized by both groups of idiots who bring the European hooliganism to the sport.

If you act in a mature fashion, you will be fine.

Just seemed a bit organised, as in people had flares etc (you wouldn't take them unless something was planned)

I've never had trouble in the past with AFL, but being in the minority (heart) I don't want to be targeted just because of the club l support, especially for the safety of my son.

Yeah, the two group of supporters hate each other. Its been going since day 1 so of course it was pre planned by the idiots.

Yeah, can understand your concern for your son but from memory stuff like that only occurs against the Victory.

I think you will have more trouble wearing your heart gear to the derby this week than you would against united.

You'll be fine.

Virtually no animosity between United fans and Heart as far as im aware.

You've got to realise: Victory Fans and United fans absolutely hate each other. They're always at it. The Victory fans are as much a part of it as the Adelaide fans. Theres an idiot percentage that come down here looking for trouble, and a percentage of our fans who are happy to give it to him. Its not an 'Adelaide is unsafe' situation. This is very very very rare at any other teams events.

Although there is always the possibility that people will realize they just paid money to watch a Soccer match again. I cant imagine what that would do to me. Probably make me riot or something.
