Will Slade

The good news for Slade is that Callan is allegedley unhappy because Bomber won't talk to him. If that's true, and assuming the review is largely a sham and Bomber's 'communication skills' don't get improved, Callan could be asking to be traded.

despite the fact he has a fanatical teeny bopper girly fan base that worships his every action, Slade isn't cut out as an AFL footballer. Yeah he's got guts and determination, but he's reckless, gives away too many needless frees and has no skill on the ball. Tim Callan is the same type of player as Slade; fearless and courageous, but unlike Slade, Callan can actually use the footy properly.
The only thing that might save him is that the club might keep him on the rookie list as a mature player, something which the AFL will introduce for next season. Otherwise rabid little girls everywhere will soon have to find a new pretty boy to dream about...
Indeed.

I see where your coming from about Slade giving away millions of free kicks. Like you said, Slade has guts and determination which IMO is essential in making a good footballer. You said Will has no skill on the ball... I beg to diff. Yes, Will can struggle sometimes with making decisions and giving away frees BUT I think with the right coach Will can make an even better player. I just feel that we should persevere with him because he has so much potential. Do you think Sladey can learn these skills that he needs to play in the senior team or do you think Geelong should give him up and let another club deal with it?

Tim Callan is a great player and his young, it would be sad to see either of these guys go. If you watched the VFL finals you could really see the difference between the 2 players. Nothing against Callan but Will stepped up when he was needed and Callan did what he could but Slade did more IMO. Callan is 22 and Will is 23 but Will is so much more developed as a footballer and has a lot more experience.

we could draft david spriggs for them!!!
Thats fine with me. ;) He was my fav player when I was younger, yes I'll admit that it was mainly based on looks but I was young! hahaha Shame about his knee... it stuffed his career a fair bit. Stupid beach wall. :(

WOO HOO!!!!! :p

Slades a dud. Flick him.

We have alot of better options then him who have more potential, and are less injury prone. Wouldnt waste a space on our list next year IMHO

Slade is not injury prone. He played pretty much every game this season.
VFL -14 games (including finals)
AFL -6 games
NAB Cup -4 games

Who are these better options with more potential? I'm not having a go at you I'm just interested. :)

as a small defender? Tim Callan, David Wojcinski, David Johnson, Josh Hunt, Jarad Rooke are all small defenders ahead of Slade.

prone: Having a tendency; inclined

The past is the past - prone means that he's likely to get injured in the future, but his 2006 season has been injury-free.

Well doesnt the past help cause with the future.

A person with dodgey knees is prone no more injuries in the future

Slade has **** groins. Let me assure u his injury prone.

BTW if king has a injury free year, he isnt injury prone anymore? is that correct

I think it's been said in feature articles that he's had a complete recovery, so he isn't injury prone anymore. Kingy would be cos his are recurring.

How many groins does he have? :p

Yeah, but King isn't fit, and I'm pretty sure fitness plays a big part in proneness to injury.

Will's shown that he's been injury-free this year, and has played very physically, so I've got my faith in that.

If Slade still has a **** groin then why has he been fine over the entire season? I assure you, he is not injury prone.

I think you will find that alot of fringe players are unhappy with coaches at many clubs, because they aren't getting a gig.
