Will the Lions end another era?

I was just reminiscing today about 2001, when the all-conquering (snort) Essendon team were defending their wonderful sum of 1 premierships, and we steamrolled them, knocking them so far back down that even now they are still struggling to recover, when I realised that perhaps we might be on the verge of the same thing this week.

The Saints have won 8 out of 8, just 2 short of their mighty 2004 (snort) streak, and it occurs to me that if we knock them off, they too may not recover, and it may spark the Lions to our next 3peat, thereby cementing ourselves as the most successful club of any era.

That's what I was pondering. Pretty sure it'll happen.
