Will we finish in the bottom four?

What is stopping North getting us back this year and claiming they will get Waterman, forcing us to use our first rounder?

I cannot understand this line of thinking.

We bid our pick for no other reason that we believed McDonald was worth that pick. Imagine bidding overs for a player and ending up getting them.

IMO 'North' (or any other team for that matter) will only bid the pick they believe a player is worth and not to force a team to use a pick in any given round.

carlton is the team that will bid for waterman if gibbs leaves and they finish below us. if gibbs leaves they will probably get a pick after their first rounder, which at this point they would have 7 and 8 (compo). they use one to get a kpp and one to bid for waterman. its a free crack for them. either we use our pick and the draft is 1 deeper later on or we dont and they get one of the better midfielders in the draft. win/win for them.

We've won too many games to finish in the bottom four. Six would probably avoid it, we'll get 7 minimum.

The way the timing works, they probably won't know if Gibbs is leaving when the F-S bidding takes place.

nah the lions have been decimated this season. Even up there we will beat the wooden spooners of 2014. The other thing that will come back to haunt us is our huge percentage. That will ensure that we dont finish in the bottom 4.
I wouldn't count that result out. One thing about the lions even though they are decimated by injury they have 22 who put in 100% effort week in week out. And they have plenty of speedy mids and flankers who potentially would run rings around our lot.
I'd love to put redden , rockliff and zorko in our midfield and see how much better we would be along with green in the forward line.

Let's not get too carried away. The Lions narrowly beat the Bulldogs who we beat by 10 goals.

I don't think so. We have a couple more wins in us.

Should be about 12 or 13th.

Hopefully we use or pick wisely.

I think we will finish 13th or 14th.

And that is what we need.

The first 4 picks in this draft will be KP's.

So if we finish 14th we get first pick at the best mid in the draft just what we need then Waterman in the second round.

We could fix our midfield problems in this draft if we finish 14th.

These reactionary threads are just pure nonsense. So you really think we will finish under St Kilda, Melbourne, GWS, Brisbane, Footscray and Richmond (on form at least)? Six teams just mentioned, go math.

Well Footscray haven't been in the league for about 15 years, so we've got them covered ...

At the end of the day, we are 1 win ahead of a few of those sides. There's some chance we lose next week and it's going to come down to games away v teams like the Saints and Brisbane.

If we arrive at those games 4-8 or 5-10, you'd be brave to be backing us in as certainties ...

Yea we did.round 1 at home... Meanwhile brissy did it in melbourne without their best ruck and best kick in rich ... And they seem to be improving whilst we go backwards.

unfortunately not. We will probably finish 7th from the bottom, with Brisbane GWS St Kilda Melbourne Bulldogs and Richmond all below us.

That will give us 7th pick in the draft. Hopefully we can take Jake Waterman with our 2nd round draft pick, and recruit a big bodied midfielder who has some speed with our 1st round pick.

A new contender has appeared?

What position does this mystery man play?
