Geelong have a shocking run home.
We are in 7th position at the moment but will we stay in?

The club has an eye on the future and is playing a raft of youngsters.
Great for the future but should they not concentrate a touch more on the here and now?
They owe it to the supporters to extract he best they as they are so close.

% is an issue and could come back and bite us on the bum.

If we do miss which team will boot us out?

St Kilda, North and Richmond are the threats

:(

Moondog, We would have to improve our output overnight.
The old worriers would have to get stirred up now, no room for error
I have faith but am concerned.

Planing for the future is great but all it takes is a few injuries, unexpected retirements and players not progressing and the plan goes out the window. Other teams also have a great bunch of youngsters coming through.

What gives me comfort is the system we have in place and the culture of the club. The players would be given every opportunity to perform to their best possible standard.

I think we will.

We are 2 games ahead of the 8th teams onwards and 2 of them would have to overtake us for that to happen. The fact that these teams play each other in the run home makes that less likely.

The next month will tell a lot though, lose 3 of the 4 and we could be shaky. Go 50-50 and we will make the finals from there.

I think we'll make the 8 and win the premiership from 4th, 5th or 6th.
Premiership would be nice, I think we will make the eight, maybe get to a prelim.

This PLEASE. So wanna see some footy when I get home.

And go cats tomorrow night!!!!!! Looking for payback after the last time we met...

Tomorrow night is the crunch game. Win that and we confront an Essendon side minus Hurley, Crameri, Ryder and Hocking.

Nice. Yeh I see essendon are on the slide this time of the year as usual. Should be watching too in London! Woot, my first game for well over a month!

I think Crameri is right to play us. Misses this round against Port and then is back...I think.

Correction, you are right. Still some important players structure wise, who are out.

id be happier if we beat hawthorn again, then fade away this year, happy in the fasct we beat the premier twice and come back next year with a better list and luck, finish 10th or 9th

Monfries and Zaharakis will also miss.

Essendon's forward line this week is Dell'Olio, Hille, Jetta, Davey, Heppell and Gumbleton.
So that's a bloke in his 3rd game or so, a diving little germ, a much out of form Davey (has been for a long time), a young half-back flanker, and a bloke who hasn't played all year.

I'll give them Hille - he isn't too bad.

Just a few little notes.

Davey is out of form? He was quiet last week being his first game back from suspension but previous to that he had kicked 22 goals from 9 games.

Jetta has had a quiet few weeks, he needs to start impacting the scoreboard again but is no doubt capable.

Heppell won't play forward, Reimers will (better than you think too).

Crameri will be back for next week.

Essendon should be able to kick a winning score tomorrow and we'll go from there.

Yep-tonight will be tough but we can do it, West Coast we will probs lose. All the rest are winnable and expect to give all those teams a run for their money.

We can do it, but I don't want us to be just making up numbers, we have to be a realistic chance of going all the way. If we can't do that I would rather that we miss out altogether, draw a line under the current era and regroup

Cats v2.0

What suggests they're not worrying about the here and now? Do you honestly think that they haven't picked what they think is the best team available for tonight?

We'll make it, but anyone hoping for top four is likely to be disappointed. I am not ruling it out, but we'd probably have to win no less than seven of the next eight games, or else two or three of those teams above us have to have a big slump. I think sixth or seventh is probably as high as we can get, realistically.

We'll make it, just, and am expecting a couple of thumping losses (one at home, one in Perth) to really have us on the ropes, with one elbow on the matt, and a sweaty towel being rung out, just about to be thrown. Then we'll see the pretenders, wannabees, and whosearetheys get sorted as the lumbering, blood-soaked Cats claw their wares and heave their bulk to V.I.C.T.O.R.Y...

Only want to make the 8 if the club is trying to win it. If we are just looking at 2015 or something then mine as well play the kids as we will be making up numbers. If we are trying to win, then best 22 we have every week, no more suspensions and no more slow starts.

Crameri has kicked 4 goals in his last 4 games and will be coming back from a spell on the sidelines.

The Heppell situation seems similar to us with Mackie.
Gets named at HFF then ends up in the backline.

If we do there will be some very disappointed people on this board. The Doom & Gloomers will be shattered.

Bullshit.

The "Doom & Gloomers" will be celebrating just as hard as everyone else. Just because they're capable of facing reality doesn't make them lesser supporters or their opinions less relevant.
