Richmond FC is officially a professional organisation now. Since Brendon Gale took the reigns the development we've made off the field is quite amazing. It's a standard that other clubs reached long ago - it's never been clearer that money talks. Only this calibre of professionalism will bring sustained success. It's obvious to me now that we definitely know what we're doing at Punt Road. We no longer have to rely on blind optimism to raise our spirits - Tigers, this is REAL!!

Just watched the video PH and I'm excited ! Things are so controlled and measured these days and the spin is over. Fantastic turn around in the space of roughly 3 and a half years. This guy is experience personified and looks to be loving every minute of it. Straight shooter ta boot. Lets get ready to rumble!!!

He was super impressive in that video- really happy we've got him. Our coaching set up looks locked and loaded. You can see that he lives and breathes footy but also that he's not one-dimensional. If you were setting out to create the perfect development coach you couldn't better Choco's experience and skill-set- born into an amazing football family, solid player, premiership coach and phys ed teacher. Fantastic.

What a CV! :thumbsu:

We are talking about an uneducated, VERYimmature kid, who has always been around these bad crowds with his old man and is very easily lead astray. He left school at 15 and is the not the same as any average 20-21 year old. Granted experience tells us we all grow up, but a lot of us also grow once its to late. The rate of maturity is not a given, and neither is the level of maturity.

I know looking at with the glass half empty approach is not overly popular on here, so I'm not expecting you to go onto the **** stroking thread and mention how much u rate my feed back. But this is a genuine concern that potentially might not sort itself out like everyone seems to assume. I love dusty, and personally can live with him being a tool his whole career, the club on the other hand, I'm not so sure!!
Not sure how you would know that? Has there been publicised links to unsavoury types, or are you making an assumption based on his old man.

Must admit he was one of the blokes that you either hated or loved. While Port coach, loathed him. Now he is one of us, love (in a manly way) him. He is exactly what we need. He will challenge and fast track player development like no other. Geez the last 2 off seasons recruiting have been huge for us. Maric, Morris, Chaplin, Knights, Ross Smith & Chocco.

absolutely loved his video interview. talks so well. really think he will make a massive difference to the team and the young blokes. love that he mentioned O'hanlon too.

loved the way he handled the press after a port win or loss too. i am a fan.

The more I think about this the more convinced I am that, provided a few cards fall our way, Choco will go down as one of the most important appointments of our last thirty years.

I'd advocated for adding some experience to the coaching panel for a couple of years and was keen to land Neil Craig. I could not be happier we got Choc instead. Like Googstar I think he has a number of the tools we lacked and compliments our team perfectly.

Love how we we keep adding "tough nuts" to our organisation.

I've got to go and take a cold shower now.

Could not agree more Bruce

Don't be such a know it all junior, i've known in my life some pretty immature twats that were highly educated and mixed in decent circles so less of the bigoted generalisations. I accept there are no guarantees but that goes both ways. The club has pulled a powerful lever in appointing a new generation of leadership that will underpin a healthier culture which all things being equal will drag the group along for the ride. DM's attitude to footy, the club and his teammates tell me he will wanna me a part of it

Junior? Bigot?
Calm down bud, of course the club has changed course with their attitudes, approach and recruiting. Everything at the club is extremely positive and seemingly heading in the right direction. Yet dusty is on his last chance (reportedly), and seems to b able to sign up to this new philosophy when the season proper starts and he has no time to get himself into as much trouble.

Am I the only one that can sense a pretty serious concern the club has with what dusty does in his own time. Or do most people seem to b wearing blinkers and ear plugs?

He's a major concern PUK but unfortunately it's out of our hands. I will personally back the club to get him in track and I'm sure they are eternally great full that a 38 year old married , father of 1 from the Sunshine Coast gives a shit. The same if I didn't back them supporting him.

Yes this coukd get ugly but There is not a lot any of us can do from our keyboards .

Agree 100%. Didn't think bo's reaction was justified that's all. considering i don't think I have overstated anything along the way. Happy to b proven wrong tho

You should be honoured as you haven't truly made it on this board until the old fart scolds you for talking out your clacker.:thumbsu:
