Port Melbourne were looking like winners for 3-and-a-half quarters, until Williamstown took a few chances and all of a sudden were back in the contest. Dean Limbach found his hands on the footy and converted well booting 6 goals for the match. Scott Meyer has a big future as he won first use for his midfielders, and battled rigidly in the last term taking two important marks. Brett Johnson was very good in the midfield.
Chris Egan: Kept in the back-line for too long. Brad Gotch rolled the dice and moved him where he can have an impact across the half-forward line. His pressure was pretty good, should have done more though.
Tyson Goldsack: I liked his game in the back-line - he took it up to Dukes and Pitt and spoiled well. Good contribution across centre-half back.
Daniel Nicholls: Workmanlike effort and used it well.
Sharrod Wellingham: Got plenty of the footy early and stayed in touch with the leading stat getters throughout the game. I was very impressed with his pressure and one percenters.
Martin Clarke: The Irish lad is not there yet, but I liked his run and aggression towards the footy. Looked confused at times.
Ben Reid: I was disappointed to the say the least as he could have used it as an opportunity to put his name forward, but he is a kid. Will be up and down as he hasn't settled to Williamstown's gameplan.
Danny Stanley: Very quiet.
Brent Mcaffer: Started forward, then pushed back late in the game. Quietish.
Ben Davies: Tried hard, as usual, and used it fairly well. What is his role in the Collingwood side?
Final scores:
Williamstown - 13.15.93
Port Melbourne - 13.15.93
