It was pretty bad but the 5th set was gripping

I know, it's a killer for the players and some fans but how about the drama...epic. Halep v Davis would have been nothing without the 15-13. It's feels special, like what a grand slam should be, when you get past 8 games in a set

It happens so rarely that you get in the 20's. It only happens really for Isner and Karlovic. I fear that this might be the end of it though. Perhaps a comprise and a limit at 18 if they sook.

I completely agree, it's the beauty of tennis, that entire 5th set was epic tension throughout. I hate the arguement that it wrecks the player for the next match, well again that's tennis, you should finish the match off sooner, it's like going to hard at a marathon too early.

But yep I think this match will be the turning point for it, sadly. 5th set tb will kill grand slam tennis in my view.

Anderson will be cooked for the final, would have been a tough task for him anyways but now he will easily lose the final in straight sets. Personally I think they should have 5th set tie breakers at all slams.

Anderson might lose the final in straight sets now because of these marathon matches - but so what? He wasn't good enough to wrap them up quicker so that's the price you pay
