Anyone know why Davydenko retired last night? He was a set up against Bjorkman.

No real surprises last night - Scud had his chances to win the first two sets, but played too safe on the big points. Good to see that big sook Rusedski go out early again, and Hewitt's been given an easier 3rd round match with Gimelstob beating Massu. Still on track for a 4th round meeting with Dent.

Women's draw in top half is going to plan - but I expect a couple of big names to go in the 3rd round - Myskina will be in trouble against Jankovic and Davenport should be beware of Marat's little sis.

The Poo showed some good signs last night. I had not seen him play in a while and the way people have been making it out is that this is it for the poo.

While he lost to Safin last night i was impressed alot with his game. He made some real tough volleys and by the 3rd set he was getting hammered by low blistering returns. Safin is a class player and was playing that way last night the Poo i feel could have gone alot further if he had not run into Safin now.
To say his career is over though is silly i think he may just start stringing some form together.

I disagree. Gimelstob goes alright on the grass. Surprisingly hasn't played Wimbledon as much as I thought but when he hits the grass his results improve noticeably. Once took Sampras to 4 sets at Wimbledon. Big serve too. I might have a bit of a wager on Gimelstob to beat Hewitt actually. Remember the last 2 times Lleyton has played a power server on the grass? Lost to Karlovic both times. Having said that, go Hewitt!

Both the Poo v Safin and Hew v Hernych matches were good quality.

Poo would have beaten Safin every time on grass if he took his career seriously.

Hewitt v Safin in the quarters will be a great match if they both can get there. I can see it going the distance.

Good to see Gael Monfils with a nice win over Hrbaty. This kid has the game to be able to challenge at Wimbledon into the future if he can continue to improve over the next couple of years.

Arthurs squandered double match point on the recieve at 10-9.

From what I saw he was winning his service games more easily in the final set that his opponent. But at 12-12 Popp took his chance, eventually anyway - Arthurs saved four break points in that game but couldn't save the fifth.

I just loaded up on Gimelstob over Hewitt big time. They are offering $14!!!!!
I took it in a multi along with the spurs to win the NBA championship. Odds of $21 so I plonked on $25! I will be happy regardless of who wins at least!
