I'd prefer he stay but can understand if he wanted to move on.

1) The trade out of the squad may have changed the feel in the club rooms
2) The three new players have come in on decent $ but don't seem committed to putting their body on the line
3) The premiership window closes after next year with our ageing list

Gotta admit what the actual **** is going on in this thread?!

From the points of view of 'meh its fine if a 2 x AA mid/fwd @ 23 wants out cos meh we got this' to 'He's playing like shit cos AO isn't big enough for his ego and instead of focusing on the game he's thinking about LeBron"...

If nothing else lets be clear losing a bloke with his talent and skills who is a local isn't just a 'meh' situation its shithouse. As (I am assuming 99% of us are) members we can't let that just ride...

Genuinely confused at the general apathy in here for even the faint potential of Chad Wingard leaving ports, help me out peeps what am I missing here?

Isnt the first and wont be the last gun to have a flat spot

i heard wingard say the other week his hamstrings play up because he has developed a little hunch in his back through poor posture, as i recall that is pretty much the same problem tregenza had back in the 90's and gee they run very similar

I always wait for Kyrgios to ping a string for the same reason.

Should be ways to develop his body to avoid it - also maybe not kicking straight after it gives you a warning might help.

No way we should trade wingard also, he’s made for big games - not the bloke that will carry the team through effort every week.

He probably deliberately put on weight when he moved to a much more midfield based role last year. Now that we've added midfield depth and seem to want to play him as a forward, that weight is redundant.

Yeah Pappagallo was saying the same thing to me on the day.

You can really see it when he tries to fly for the ball and doesn't get anywhere near as much air time as he used to.
 
I love Chad, always will. But he does look a little chunkier and slower.

He used to be Trading Places Eddie Murphy, now he's a bit more Dr Doolittle Eddie Murphy. I'd happily settle for Coming To America Eddie Murphy.

I was watching some highlights of him from 2013-14 the other night, I actually forgot how good he was

What a stinker of a game and the arrogance he oozed when he took a decent mark made me sick. Play like a footy god for 100% of the game and I’ll let you be arrogant. Do one good thing in a game, you keep humble and work harder at getting involved.
 
Wingard has had the instinct and nose for goal coached out of him. Everytime he's inside 50 his first move now is to look for a team mate. 2013-14 Chad backed himself and went for goal. Hinkley is coaching the talent out of Chad Wingard. If he knows what's good for him he'll ask for a trade.
 
Time to drop him. And anyone who disagrees with that can f**k off. He's become lazy and poorly skilled. Do whatever we need to do to revitalise his career - make him play Sanfl for half a season if we have to. If he still doesn't improve, encourage him to explore his options elsewhere.
 
I’ve been a big defender of Wingard, but his head is not right. Needs to be a Magpie for a while.
