Latest injury update from the AFL website:
Adelaide
Ian Callinan (bicep) - indefinite
James Craig (hamstring) - 4-5 weeks
Phil Davis (shoulder) - indefinite
David Mackay (shoulder) - indefinite
Brad Moran (hamstring) - 1 week
Andy Otten (knee) - 1-3 weeks
Jason Porplyzia (shoulder) - indefinite

Sam Shaw (hamstring) - 1 week
Rory Sloane (thumb/jaw) - test
Scott Stevens (ill) - 1-2 weeks
Daniel Talia (achilles) - 2-3 weeks

Anyone want to be how long Stevens' "1-2 weeks" turns out to be? Ditto Otten's "1-3 week" knee injury?

Not good having 3 key players listed as "indefinite" - Davis, Mackay, Porplyzia (plus Callinan).

At least we get Rory Sloane back this week.

Interesting that Shaw is listed as being 1 week away, given that he played on the weekend. Probably shouldn't be on the list - unless he re-injured himself again?

Please tell me Shaw didn't find a way back on?

Craig may as well go down as indefinate until he's going to play.

Stevens I have a fealing may have retired next to him soon :(

Otto maybe longer, but I don't know, they'll be very cautious with him.

Bloody Talia has been 2-3 for a while hasn't he?

Bloody hell, what are we doing to our young players? I thought we'd put an end to the 'Flog Young Players Til They Break Cos We Demand 100% Training Loads From 18 Year Olds' training strategy?

From K Gill
Great news for @Adelaide_FC Ian Callinan joined in some of training today. Arm strapped but no brace. About a month away #AFL

Interesting to see how well he recovers.

Probably an unfair comment for our most recent young recruits, since not one player recruited last year (other than the 28 year old Callinan, victim of a freak injury suffered during a match) is on the injury list. Certainly a fair call for the 2009 crop though, three of the four are injured with no immediate signs of improvement.

Craig and Shaw are the two real fixtures on that list. Just can't seem to get off it, and if they do they're straight back on again. Very frustrating.

Talia really wants to get a wriggle on. He needs to be playing solid SANFL footy by the end of the year.

It is a fine line though. Couldnt help but think last night watching Port play how unfit they are. How do Collingwood have such superior fitness levels and yet have hardly any injuries. $$$$$$$$$$
The gap is going to get wider and wider... We need to spend more on our football department if we are to be any chance of competing with the big boys

There is some big ins for the mighty panthers in coming weeks! Hopefully Port realise Alipate has signed for GWS and flick him for the remainder of the year aswell:)

I could be wrong but I thought there was something saying Callinan was listed as as a few weeks off coming back yet he is listed as indefinite in the latest injury report?

That doesn't seem to have been updated ... Callinan probably won't play next weekend (28th) but if not, I think he will be okay the next weekend. He did some tackling and wrestling at training today. I believe Lyons has a minor strain but Otten and talia are playing this weekend and wright shouldn't be on there.

I'm pretty sure they've updated the list. Getting pretty small now, almost down to an average length AFL injury list.........

Phil Davis Shoulder Season
Scott Stevens ill Indefinite
Jason Porplyzia Shoulder Indefinite
David Mackay Shoulder 4 weeks
James Craig Hamstring 2-3 weeks
Ian Callinan (rookie) Bicep 1 week
Jarryd Lyons Hamstring 1 week

Round 11 Injury List (taken from AFL website 1/6/11):
Code:
Adelaide Crows
Player Injury Estimated Return
Ian Callinan Bicep Indefinite
James Craig Hamstring 2-3 weeks
Phil Davis Shoulder Season
David Mackay Shoulder 3 weeks
Jason Porplyzia Shoulder Indefinite
Scott Stevens Ill Indefinite
Will Young Knee 3-4 weeks
Taylor Walker Knee TBC

The good news is that our injury list is back in the realms of normality. The bad news is that most of the players listed are gone for a long time, with no players expected back in the next 1-2 weeks.

I wouldn't want to. Give him more than adequate time to recover and slowly bring him back into it ready to dominate next year.
