And then we play an out of form west coast side next week, this could have us sitting in their a little while... I may be jumping the gun but I am looking at teams like adelaide, west coast, brisbane and freo these days with real confidence of beating them... I reckon we can make the 8..
The Adelaide match is a real test of where we're at i think...
To show that the Collingwood match wasn't a fluke and that we can beat well drilled teams..

I have to admit it's going to be rare exciting at the game Saturday having absolutely no idea what's going to happen. Other matches you have a bit of an inkling but we are in such a teetering state of backwards/forwards development and success wise that I have to admit to having ____all idea on our chances.

our defense is already playing like it's been a unit for 2-3 yrs.. we'll make them earn it for sure..

[The Real Deal]

This is a huge game for us. At 3-3 we would have a bit of momentum going into the West Coast match and it would show we're starting to become a competitive side. If we lose, we're amongst the average sides in the comp.

If Hartlett can take some of the pressure off Fev that will fill a big gap in the forward line. Goal to goal line of Jammo, Waite, Judd, Kreuzer/Hartlett, Fevola is starting to look more solid.

Can't wait to see how we stack up with the Crows. If we play like we did against the pies we're a big chance!

but like ratts said, we were trained very hard in the weeks leading up to that match, now with a shorter turn around we havent gone as hard on the track and we'll have more to give come 4th qtr saturday...

Agreed. Also, the next month I think will really give us a better idea of how much we have actually improved. Adelaide (Home), West Coast (Away), Brisbane (H) & Fremantle (H) will make for some interesting viewing. The Collingwood win was largely unexpected but I think we all expected the beat Melbourne on their current form or lack thereof. These next 4 games will show a lot about our team....exciting....scary....pass me the binoculars!!

I'm actually really looking forward to this game, because, as Thylacine already said, I have ____ all idea what is going to happen.

Adelaide go in to the game as favourites, but we are a genuine chance of knocking them off, especially if our players continue to run and not panic. They've been doing well over the last few weeks so if we show more of the same we could definitely win.

Like so many times over the last few years, Fev is the key. He's coming up against Rutten, much stiffer opposition than the last few weeks. Odds are he may be held and he might get a little frustrated. The real test will be to see how he responds - whether or not he kicks a bag. I'll be looking to see if things don't go his way early, how he goes about it. Will he drop his head and resort to old habits of sooking etc, or will he continue to show the fantastic work ethic that he has over the last few weeks and continue to creat opportunities not only for himself, but for others.

It'll come down to our forward line vs their backline. If we can get on top in that department we'll give them a good tussle.

Sounds like a possible shootout! I think we have the power to take 'em out if that happens. Our midfield matches with theirs so all that needs to happen is for us to stay strong down back and keep them to a score below 100

I think this weekend is our cross-roads decision. With a win, I think we could make a serious push to play finals football, where as a loss I think will set us back a little bit, and we'll push to finish around 12th or so.

I said earlier in the week, it's not often Adelaide kick over 100 points a match and we all know we are more than capable of doing that.

If the entire team continue to play their defensive role (mids get back and forwards continue to apply pressure) and our backline continue to do the things they have done over the past fortnight, we should get up

Will try to. The Eagles V Blues games seem to usually get out of hand a bit. The wablues committee will try to ensure there are few ejections, arrests and court proceedings. We are still dealing with some from last year. I promise not to START anything-but I might finish a few

Our confidence will be sky high and the boys will believe in themselves enough to maintain a good winning run over the next month as well .
Should we win , lets not raise our expectations too high on the players . There will no doubt be good games and bad games , frustration at times perhaps , but as long as we're constantly improving we can say we are heading in the right direction as appears to be the case .

That was last year. God, just like Carlton we are a different team than last year, do you realise this? Scoring well over 100 twice so far just proves we're not using the "ultra-flood gameplan" as we did on occassions last year.

Seen any games this year by the way? 20 goals against the dogs, 21 goals against the Eagles? We're only 11 points behind carlton in Points For.

I just don't see Rutten and Bassett as ideal matchups for Fevola. He's far too quick for either of these blokes on the lead. I'm also not sure how they are going to go playing at the 'G, given they have averaged one game a season there for the past 4.

It's just a pity that it's going to rain tomorrow, as i would have really liked to have seen how we would go against them on a dry track.
