DP WORLD TOUR
Angel Ayora $15 at $17

AUSTRALIAN OPEN
Adam Scott $10 at $21
Si Woo Kim $15 at $23

Just another illustration of the crapness of the OWGR:

The Hero World Challenge had a Field Rating of 114.9. The Oz Open was rated at 120.4

Fair enough, one might think. So that would mean that the winner of the Oz Open receives more points than Hideki who won the Hero, right?

Well, that would be wrong. What this stupid system does is split those field ranking points amongst the field who make the cut, if there is one. Bigger fields mean less points for the winner.

Rasmus N-P received 20.7 points and Hideki will cop 30.3. Even the Nedbank(field rating 100.1) winner receives more points - 21.0.

It needs to be blown up.

Norris with great sporting attributes at Dunhill Championship

Incredible shot which we see quite regularly as the fairway bunkers are no longer hazards as these guys are so good out of them. It is of no disappointment for these great golfers going into them anymore sadly.

LIV does have some form of leaking news of impending sign ons that don’t happen.

Although I can still see the attraction of signing with LIV for big bucks if one can still play a decent schedule of DP Tour events.
This one (sadly) is happening

The problem is the obscene money they continue to offer which makes it near impossible to refuse.

As an example apparently Luke Clanton knocked back $30M.
That’d be hard to knock back for a 22/23yo. You could take the dough and worse comes to worst you re-start the career in 3 years

New rule changes brought in, effectively immediately.

1. Hitting a ball that a player inadvertently moved has had penalty reduced from two strokes down to one.

2. Players can now take relief from the pitch marks of other players.

3. Internal OOB now only played as OOB from shots from the the tee box.

4.players can now get even more relief from immovable objects around the green.

5. Players can repair/replace clubs mid round with components from their bag. So long as not damaged via abuse.

6. Relief area for preferred lies reduced from one club length to one scorecard length.

The preferred lies change is a good one for the pampered effs.

Gonna carry a big ass scorecard now

Meh.

Never saw major potential in him and he’s taken the dollars.
I'm of the view that he's potentially our best player since Adam Scott. Huge talent. Made for PGA Tour golf too.

Whether we see the best of him now given his decision to play in limited field invitational events with no cut is obviously the question.

The cupboard is pretty bare for Australian golf talent.

Three blokes in the top 100, none in the Top 40. One of them is Scott, another is Day.

Smylie outside 100 and won’t get near a major anytime soon, unless there is one he’s exempt for that I’m unaware of.

Bleak.

Couldn't agree more.

For the amount in this country that's been spent on High Performance in recent decades it's not ideal that we don't have a single world top 40 player.
