Golf World Golf thread - Welcome to the The Masters

Scotty just loves Riviera! Great final round.
Most importantly it puts him into the AON Next 10 which gets him into Bay Hill without having to rely on another sponsor's exemption. This is important because I think he still needs to get himself into all three majors after the Masters - although in all likelihood the US PGA would invite him(gets him to 100 straight majors) as they usually invite the top 100 in OWGR.

This finish might be getting a bit spicy.

the crowd is going nuts. Wonder how many of them were jeering and abusing him at the ryder cup
I'd say none - not sure too many Long Islanders made the journey to hang out with the Hollywood Elites.

Great to see Bridgeman get over the line. Would have been a nightmare if he missed that last one to shoot +2. Although the drama of a playoff would have been interesting.

Great finish at Riviera.

Always great seeing first time winners and what a course to do it at, the best course on tour IMO.

The ghost gums are something else.
No doubt the best course on the PGAT - but played at a shizen time of year.

They were unlucky with the weather this year, but if the talk is true and they move Riv and Pebble to be season enders, that's when we would see those courses at their best.

Sorry TTS - I missed this as was still in shell shock from our 80 point hiding against the all conquering Dees at Casey Fields...

I had small bets on English, Straka and Aberg. Three made cuts but none threatened.

TBH I've been watching more of the NZPGA. It's probably the wrong thread for it but I think Paraparamu Beach wins my vote as the most underrated golf course in the Oceania region. Sublime venue.
About our loss to the Demons, I wouldn't worry to much about it, if we get taken apart by port in round one then I will have concerns, coaches trying things out, players with little injury concerns etc etc, "Kozzie" does that, very good player but goes missing a lot, on the PGA Tour this week a yucky event, but with the big guns away a real chance for someone to get a "W"! Who do you like this week?

Friends don't let friends bet on a field like this.

Thorbjornsen and Echavarria for me but it's hard to tip in at the prices available. Typically I'd want 50/1 for MT and 150/1+ for Echavarria and I'm no chance of getting that this week so will stay on the sidelines.

I don't understand what strength of field has to do with the attractiveness of the market from a betting viewpoint?
Betting on golf is a tough gig. I'd say that lesser fields where there is much less exposed form makes it even tougher.

Was a lighthearted comment. Don't overthink it.

Going to singapore on friday for 6 nights sandwiched between lpga this week and liv in a fortnight both at Sentosa 5 mins from accom. Did 9 holes at singapore open years ago ,followed Sergio for a few hours and saw robert allenby too. Only planned to see 9 holes in the am . Did post photos here IMG_0470.webp IMG_0464.webp IMG_0458.webp

Watching SA Open in Cape Town, this is how Royal Hobart plays. Swirling breeze up high. You can feel something but 100m away the flag is doing the opposite.
