Just occurred to me how nice it is to have the main commentators rather than the international feed.

Ludvig(not to mention The Scout) sleeping on a 3 shotter. Ludvig will sleep well. As Trevor put it, “this kid is as cool as the other side of the pillow”. But leaving that last putt on the low side wasn’t great.

On the other hand, predict Scouty will have a rough night

Did Aberg choke ?
Reckon that term is unhelpful when it comes to golf. It's just too broad. Is it a choke anytime a 3rd round leader doesn't deliver?

What was obvious, and he admitted as much afterwards, was that he made a series of bad swings on the back 9, especially on 11 and 12. Said his swing started getting quick(nice to be able to share an attribute with a pro) - and that was surely due to the pressure of the moment.

Disappointing final round, very good week. Golf is hard. You'd like to think that will provide Ludvig with some valuable experience and next time he will manage himself a bit better down the stretch. Of course it could also haunt him next time!

We all need him to be great - perfect swing, seems like a good fella and plays fast. The more we get the likes of Ludvig and Thorbornsen in final groups instead of slow players like Xander, Cantlay and even Bhatia, the better.

What about Sudarshan Yellamaraju, someone who I had never heard of before this week?

Gets his PGAT card via the KFT then in his 8th career start, nails a Top 5. Takes his career earnings from about $360k to $1.28m. Secures entry into next week as well as Harbour Town and probably the other Signature events. Not quite a career changer, but certainly now has the opportunity to move up in the world.

I didn’t see any of the last round just saw his back nine score and was wondering

On consideration, you could generously describe this as another step for him in terms of career progression. Not many players step up to winning big tournaments/majors without previously having a few times of being in contention and not getting it done.

In hindsight, bar a few miraculous shots, his whole weekend was pretty average.

Cam Young on the other hand was ridiculous down the stretch. His drive on 18 won it for him.

Very good analysis sidey, you look at Hideki and Xander not to long ago and they were up there with chances to win majors before going nowhere in the final round and this happened in quite a few majors, people saying best player to not win a major and the pressure to get the job done, well as we know Hideki won the Masters and Xander won two majors, there is nothing like experience on the big stage.

I thought the problem happened way before the 11th and 12th hole, the last three holes in the 3rd round where he should have at least made two birdies if not three in that final stretch and gone in with a five or six shot lead, instead he only makes par on those two holes and three putts the last for a average round {for him}.

I was hoping but after watching those last three holes in the third round I knew he was in a bit of trouble and you could read it on his face after each and every one of those holes, this will do him the world of good, next time he's in this position in a big tournament people will see what he can really do and it won't even be close.

Could do him a world of good - or it might not!

As Padraig Harrington says, "It's not everything it's cracked up to be to have experience."
As Tiger once said, "A shot's a shot and that's the way I've always treated it. There really aren't difficult ones or easy ones because they all count as a shot. That's the mindset you have to have". Ludvig's mindset will no doubt be put to the test for the remainder of the year to see whether he can rebound from the last round of "The Players", future champions all have that quality, we shall see.:smilev1:

I happened to watch the end of a TGL match last night. Not sure the teams but Rose and Fleetwood were on one side.

Goodness me I thought LIV was bad. This is genuinely a whole new level of cringe. Golfers are not born to be actors.
