Raff Clarke was just painfully slow. Above and below the shoulders.
When he was handed the ball you could almost see the little mouse on a treadmill inside his skull churning out complex decisions.....should i run ? should i kick it ?

Nowhere near as bad as that Costagnza bloke though.

Scott Turner. Full-back for Richmond during the '90s.

Would give hospital handballs from the goal square he's defending, and then run forward to give his team mate an "option", but of course a turnover has happened and the opposition are running for goal - and the goal square is open because he ran out of it...

Would wait outside of packs on the wrong side of goal as a defender...

Also, he was the designated kicker out of defence for whatever reason, and loved kicking it into the corridor no matter what (chances are it was a set play, but wow it was horrible to watch).

He also liked sneaking forward SOS-style a lot, but wasn't anywhere near the goal-kicker, and in fact just looked totally out of place and simply got Richmond killed on the rebound more often than not.

Weirdly, watching him play and direct (he was their general down back, like the Bizarro version of Luke Hodge) Richmond's backline was pretty hilarious to watch, but it was a godsend when Richmond got Darren Gaspar near the end of the '90s who basically acted as a Mr Fix-It for Turner's bloopers.

Anyway, Turner ended up playing almost 150 games.

No idea where he was on the field, joined the illustrious club of players with a negative supercoach score (-3). Had injuries to mitigate somewhat but I just recall having NFI what he was doing on the field when i watched him. Has soured hyphenated surnames for me, concerning considering we picked up one with out first pick this year.

In terms of current players that could be replaced by a local footballer given access to AFL-level training and coaching and you wouldn't know the difference, it has to be Jason Cantstandya.

    Some guy named Constagna.

He wouldn't get a game at the Bulldogs.

Some people here struggling to get the difference between ‘worst’ and ‘most overrated’.

From an Adelaide perspective, two whose existence on an AFL list have perplexed me in my lifetime are:
    David Gallagher
    Ian Perrie

Gallagher was like a smaller, less effective version of David Mackay. Perrie was maybe not the worst overall, but his bad was very, very bad.

Also, that Richmond premiership player Jason Cucina deserves an honorable mention.

    Tom Cole – 4
Dropped a sitter running back with the flight to allow Jaidyn Stephenson to steam into the open goal in the first quarter

    Live, it's Lewis Roberts-Thompson.
Hawthorn vs Sydney 2008 at the MCG. Only player in the warm up to not hit a target, then Buddy kicks 3.7 on him. If only big Bud had kicked straight that day it would have looked even worse.

Is only young, but goodness he would've been relieved the Eagles won or he'd have gone into infamy. Been plenty of anonymous grand final efforts, but haven't seen many like that where literally everything he did or went near turned to shit.
