Worst Captain

In all seriousness, Nick 'crybaby' riewoldt takes the cake by a country mile. St Kilda does nothing for their mental image or strength by employing a captain who constantly cries and gets emotional regarding his footy. How can anyone take such a spud seriously (pardon the pun). This is poor leadership and imparts his same mental weakness to the rest of the squad as a result.

He can't score when he has a shot to win the game, he cries and gives up early in the season against Collingwood due to getting a little bit hurt and he plays in the grand final severely injured and gets schooled by an inexperienced and rising Geelong defender :). What a way to let down your team and club in the name of self interests!

This is a stark contrast to Premiership Winning captain Tom Harley, who comes back on to the field after being knocked out concussed by his opposition in their losing 2008 Grand Final.

Not to mention, this little pretty boy fails to get involved when his team is in an all in brawl because he is a better downhill skier than AFL Role Model.

lol, Reiwoldt is a superstar. As you, me, and everybody else knows. If you had someone half his value you may have finally been able to pull the plug on the failed 'Fat Tommy' experiment.

And please don't compare Riewoldt to Harley. Harley is Maxwell-lite. Not quite as good a player, and definitely a lesser leader. And Maxwell aint much himself.

As to the OP, I've gotta give it to Jobe. He has about as much presence as Kayne Pettifer.

It appears that this is how the draft picks worked.

{Just looked it up. We only got one draft pick for plugger which was pick 5 and we took Joel Smith. We actually only got Robert Neil as a player but also the Hawks were involved and we got Glen Nugent and Joshua Kithcen from them in return for pick 13 and we took Chris Hemley. We had to give them pick 59.}

{smith and chris hemley were our two draft picks for plugger...aussie and sziller were picked with our original picks.....we basically got sfa for plugger...
smith walked after three seasons......

i am sick of posting that aussie was not part of the compensation for plugger.........}

Well I did say I wasn't sure whether Aussie Jones was part of the Lockett trade.

We got Joel Smith though, who as I said would have been a great player for us if he hadn't of wrecked his knee. Pretty sure that injury was a big factor in him ending up at Hawthorn too, as they were prepared to take a punt on him before he had fully recovered.

As for Chris Hemley, we definitely got dudded there. I can't even recall him playing a game for us. However that is the lottery of draft picks, you win some you lose some. We definitely got a bargain with Aussie Jones at pick 48 though.

So what some of the players arent that bright. Have you spoken to Coln from Melbourne.

I think the players as a collective are better equipped to decide who the best captain is, compared to us nobodies on BigFooty.

You maybe a nobody.
Most players are judging on playing ability I bet not leadership.

Ahh, that must be how Tom Harley won in 2008 then... playing ability...

Was there a more sublime football talent to watch in 2008 than... Tom Harley?

:rolleyes:

Give it a rest mate, J. Brown is one of the best leaders in the competition. Probably THE best.

21-1 record.

Players just saw that and voted for him on Geelongs good year.

Wait... 20 mins ago you said that the players were voting on playing ability.

Now they are suddenly voting on team success? Make up your mind.

2009 - Jonathan Brown (Brisbane finished 6th)
2007 - Jonathan Brown (Brisbane finished 12th)
1999 - Paul Kelly (Sydney 8th)

Yep, appears that that argument has died in the ass too. What else have you got?

The point I am trying to make is that the players are not voting for the best leader but are influenced by other factors such as ability and team records.

Your point is summarily dismissed.

James Mc Donald would be the weakest player on that list but it doesn't mean he would be the worst captain.

He is a former all Australian so he cant be that bad

Judd - at two Clubs, Carlton and West Coast. He destroyed both by wanting to be mates with everyone and having no discipline.

Judd, mercenary of the highest order, wants money, gets money and doesn't give a **** about the rest... Prefect Carlton captain.
