From Andy Gray, an Everton legend who despises Liverpool. Just goes to show the professionalism of the broadcast compared to the shit we get served up by the Friday night commentary team every week who covered the game tonight.

Am I the only one who enjoys listening to Brian Taylor?

I like him. He makes it entertaining and just goes for the team who is losing. Most commentators do since a close game is an entertaining game.

Basil Zempalis is a nose in front any other commentator for worse in the business. He is a fair dinkum knob head.

'Big Boy McEvoy' and 'Geelong footy factory' drive me insane. At least he's not going on about Ahmed Saad living in a garage every week this season.

Worst team ever assembled hands down. I almost choked on my saliva when henderson marked 10-15 metres out and taylor was saying there was a little right to left in this shot and advising where to aim the kick. 10 metres out for f sake what an imbecile..

However the 2 times Saad was lining up for a goal he made a couple of immature comments. First he said look how "stiff" he looks, then the next set shot mentioned how "erect" he was. How old are you Taylor? A 13 year old school boy?

I really wish commentators would have an understanding of the rules before they start being critical of the umpires. Fair enough to have a go if there are blatant mistakes, but there seem to be a number of commentators these days who consistently bash the umpires for making correct decisions. It boggles the mind.

There are some piss poor commentary teams but BT, Darcy and Richo sets the stand for shitness. Just a recipe for disaster having three clowns and no straight man.

Triple M were rocking the Big Boy McEvoy all game but you know you're going to get a comical style when you tune into Triple M and they do it well. Channel 7 should call the game properly with the odd clever 1 liner Denis style.

Does anyone know why Channel 7 go two commentators on Friday nights and Sunday arvos with Dennis and Bruce but only one on Saturday night? I'm surprised Darcy only does "special comments". He's actually not a bad play by play commentator on triple M, because he has a good voice and just calls the game.

A small change to the Saturday night team but a big improvement would be having Darcy and BT split the calling and bring someone else to do the special comments, instead of the captain obvious Darcy stuff.

Why doesn't football have a Richie Benaud? Someone capable of a pisstakingly funny dry line.

They all take themselves far too seriously trying to find a narrative that is always too uncomforably close to the team they bloody well support, or a team they don't want to openly admit they hate.

Dennis is as close as we get, and I love him, although he's not quite in Richie's class.
